Ershaka Reiki and Sweetwater Studios are hosting a Reiki and Restorative Yoga Workshop on November 1st from 9:30-11:00. Restorative yoga enables deep relaxation as you hold poses for longer periods of time with the help of props to completely support you. It also helps you to regain calm balance and soothe tired muscles. Reiki translates as: spiritually guided life force energy. Energy can become stagnant when there has been physical or emotional injury or pain. Reiki helps to remove these areas of stagnation, improving energy flow, providing relaxation, and reducing stress. In addition, enjoy the healing energy of crystal sounds bowls. Limited to 6 participants!

Janice’s Story

Janice Narey worked as a nurse for 34 years. In 2012, she obtained her Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a specialty in leadership and management. She worked at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for over 28 years before retiring in October of 2016.

Janice has been a Reiki practitioner since 2014. She has a Third Degree Reiki certification in Usui Shiki Ryoho and a Jikiden Reiki Shoden (Reiki I) certification.

While working at DHMC, Janice was a Reiki volunteer for the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Code Lavender program, a program developed to provide support for the CHaD staff after they experienced stressful events. She also provided Reiki support for other departments through events sponsored by the chaplaincy department. Janice is currently a Reiki volunteer at Norris Cotton Cancer Center North in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

Janice started Ershaka Reiki in 2017. She is a partner in the Northeast Kingdom Reiki Collective in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, is a member of the Barnet Tradepost Wellness Center team in Barnet, Vermont, and is a member of the Trail2Wellness Fitness & Spa team in East Burke, Vermont.
