Message from Dr. Karl Kosse:
As you many of you may know, there have been a several pivotal changes in the past few months within the Kosse family; most specifically, with the loss of my dear wife, Beth. This, along with a few positive professional changes, has created the need for Kosse Pediatrics to remain closed a short while beyond the holiday season to appropriately adapt and adjust. Thank you for your patience as Kosse Pediatrics undergoes a facility update, onboards additional providers, and trains new staff on upgraded software.
I want to assure you that while much has shifted in my life, one thing has not: my commitment to caring for your children. I remain proud to serve the children of St. Joseph area. During the transition, I can still be contacted at via phone at 816-390-5626 or via text at 816-279-7337 for medication refills, clinical guidance, and Telehealth visits, including ADHD evaluations. However, if your child needs be seen in person during this short period of transition, please leave me a message and I will arrange a visit.

I will soon return to the office and look forward to serving all the families that I have come to know and love. In the meantime, Happy New Year.

Everybody who knows Kosse Pediatrics knows Beth. Beth has been with me before Kosse Pediatrics opened. She is my wife. Beth is no longer with us.

Elizabeth Cota Kosse, aged 61, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The family will receive friends from 5-700 PM on Thursday at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed by the rosary to be prayed at 700 pm. The family

Current patients with Home State Health have received a letter stating that I will no longer accept Home State Health insurance. This is incorrect. Members with Home State will continue to be able to see me. I will continue to accept Home State Health.

We have the Moderna vaccine available

CDC recommends that everyone aged 6 months and older get an updated COVID-19 vaccine to reduce the risk of severe disease, hospitalization, and death. There is a new vaccine for RSV for all babies 8 months and younger. Please call to schedule. Not all providers have this one available. Some babies over 8 months and less than 2 will also qualify. Call Kosse Pediatrics if your baby needs this vaccine!!
