March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month.
Problem gambling doesn’t exist in isolation.

It affects our families, friends, workplaces, and entire communities. Awareness helps us replace misunderstanding with empathy and reminds people they don’t have to struggle alone.

Call (816) 364-1501 to reach out to Family Guidance Center.

Overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in the U.S., but together, we can create change. You can join Family Guidance Center and Overdose Lifeline,Inc in spreading awareness and supporting those impacted by substance use disorder.

Today we observed a moment of silence in memory of those lives lost to substance abuse or overdose. Tell someone today: Hope is real. Recovery is real.

Please join us in recognizing the outstanding, person-centered and collaborative teamwork of four incredible Family Guidance Center staff members:

🏆Emily Steele (BHUCC RN)
⭐Michelle Holcomb (MCRT)
🎗️Beth Crumpler (Director, Substance Use Disorder Services)
🌟Deidre Turner (Director, Intake/Therapy).

With persistence and compassion, this team recently worked together to ensure that an individual—who may not otherwise have been able to access services—received the support needed to begin their recovery journey.

🧑🏾‍🤝‍🧑From crisis intervention and follow-up at our Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic, to transportation support, rapid coordination, and completing an intake under time-sensitive circumstances, each person went above and beyond to make sure no one fell through the cracks.

This is what person-centered care looks like in action, and it is why we are proud to say we are . Thank you Emily, Michelle, Beth, and Deidre for all that you do—and thank you to Brooke St. Onge, RN, Director of BHUCC, for recognizing and celebrating excellence within our team. 💚
