🎉 Celebration Week at 4th Grade Challenge! 🎉

Our 4th Grade Challenge students celebrated their hard work and achievements with a week full of fun, laughter, and inspiration. We even had some special guests drop by — KC Wolf and Rally brought big energy and smiles to the celebration! 🐺💫

We’re so proud of our students for their dedication and enthusiasm all semester long. Here’s to learning, growing, and celebrating every step of the way! 💙👏

In addition to the progress of Plaza 4, which will allow more access for our patients, you can also see the progress of the new library to the south, as well as Mosaic Life Care at St. Joseph - Medical Center across Faraon Street to the north.

Plaza 4 is expected to be complete in 2026.

November is National Prematurity Awareness Month — a time dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of preterm birth.

Baby Calvin was born at 29 weeks on June 27, 2025. After a month, he was able to transfer to Mosaic Life Care's Level 2 NICU affiliated with Children's Mercy — only five minutes from his mom, Jordan. Calvin is now four months old and thriving. 👶

"Having this partnership with Children's Mercy is so important for our babies who need the support of a NICU," says Jillian Simmons, director, Mosaic Life Care at St. Joseph - Maternity Care. "Providing this level of care close to home for mothers and babies in our community truly reflects our life care values of compassion and connection." 🫶

October marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to shed light on the issue of intimate partner violence and to stand with survivors.

On Thursday, October 30, Mosaic partnered with the YWCA for a series of education sessions called "In Her Shoes." This event was an immersive, in-person simulation that explores the difficult choices individuals face when experiencing domestic violence. By stepping into the shoes of a survivor, participants make decisions that highlight the often impossible and overwhelming realities of domestic violence.

Due to space, this event was only available to Mosaic caregivers this year with the exception of one session that included members of the Sexual Assault and Domestic Assault Response Teams. These teams includes multidisciplinary team members from various law enforcement agencies in the area, prosecutor’s office, Mosaic nurses and others.

🍎🎮 4th Grade Challenge Fun! 🎮🍟

Last week, students played the Frank and Jenny Game — where Frank chooses fresh, healthy foods and Jenny loads up on junk food! Through this playful challenge, the kids learned how different food choices can affect their energy, mood, and overall health. 💪🥦

It was a fun way to show that eating like Frank helps you feel your best every day! 🌟

Mindfulness & Mental Health Week at the 4th Grade Challenge! 🧠💛

Last week, our awesome 4th graders stretched, breathed, and found their zen! 🌈 Jessica taught fun yoga poses and calming breathing techniques to help kids relax, focus, and feel their best — inside and out. ✨

Taking care of our minds is just as important as taking care of our bodies, and these students were total mindfulness superstars! 🌿

🎬 Canned Film Festival Fun! 🎬
This week at the Canned Film Festival, kids had a blast with our Bike Blender—pedaling their way to healthy, delicious smoothies! 🚴‍♀️🍓🍌 They loved learning how fun (and tasty) it can be to power your own snack while moving your body.

Mosaic Life Care is proud to partner with Mid-City Excellence to offer Kids in the Kitchen healthy cooking classes. Led by Kayla and Bailey, these hands-on classes teach kids how to make nutritious meals and snacks while learning the importance of healthy eating habits.

From chopping veggies to tasting their delicious creations, the kids had a blast discovering that healthy food can be fun and tasty too!

A huge thank you to Kayla and Bailey for making learning about healthy cooking exciting and interactive. 💚
