Rx Kids is the first-ever community-wide cash prescription program for pregnant moms and babies. Rx Kids provides all pregnant moms in the City of Flint with no-strings-attached cash of $1,500 during pregnancy and $500 each month throughout a baby’s first year.

In 2025, more than 500 dedicated volunteers gave their time and talents to serve our patients, families, and communities across our three Corewell Health hospitals in Southwest Michigan. Together, they contributed an astounding 54,423 hours of service across all lines making a lasting impact every single day.

We also want to give a special shout-out to our Volunteer Coordination team for their tireless efforts in supporting our volunteers and successfully onboarding 191 new team members this year. Your commitment ensures that our volunteer program continues to thrive and grow!

A new program is starting in four Berrien County communities to provide financial support to new mothers, and it will be available to all pregnant mothers, regardless of income. Rx Kids was launched in Flint in 2024,

Our hearts are full seeing our community come together to ensure mothers and babies have the support they need from the very beginning!

Exciting news for expecting moms in the cities of Benton Harbor, Niles and Buchanan as well as Benton Charter Township! 🎉​

Starting Jan. 12, pregnant moms who live in these communities can apply for Rx Kids. Rx Kids is a program that provides no-strings-attached cash of $1,500 during pregnancy and $500 each month throughout the baby’s first six months of life. The mission of Rx Kids is to nurture and assist families during this transformative journey. ❤️

We proudly presented awards to several incredible non-profits dedicated to improving health with a focus on health equity, diversity, and inclusiveness in our region. Through the Community Wellness Endowment, we awarded four grants totaling $85,800 to support projects that make a real difference in the lives of families across Southwest Michigan:

Community Healing Centers - Supporting Carol’s Hope, providing substance abuse counseling, treatment, and family support in Berrien County.

Hartford Public Library - Funding a Charlie Cart mobile kitchen to launch a food education program that helps families make healthy choices for life.

Lincoln Township Public Library – Supporting “Berrien County Books for Babies,” a literacy initiative promoting early reading and family bonding.

United Through Motherhood – Providing diapers and baby supplies to families experiencing diaper insufficiency in Berrien and Van Buren counties.

Together, these projects reflect our commitment to building healthier, stronger communities.
