Kaylee Guthmiller, RN, from the Cardiovascular Thoracic Unit at Mosaic Life Care at St. Joseph, Medical Center, was honored with The DAISY® Award for Extraordinary Nurses on Monday, December 1. 🌼 Congratulations, Kaylee!

Kaylee received two nominations. Below are portions of each of her nominations:

🌼"Kaylee had a patient who expressed the desire that her son would like her to be baptized and him as well. On Saturday, September 20, Kaylee texted me telling me about this patient and her son. That day, this patient was not her patient, but she wanted to help her. They were both baptized on Monday, Sept. 22. It was all a huge success, and it was because Kaylee connected and listened to her patient and knew how important this was to her and her son.”

🌼"My dad was scheduled to go to the CATH Lab to see if he had blockages and if they could stent them. He went in and he came right back out 30 minutes later. Kaylee was one of the nurses that was with him. That is when they told us he could not be stented and would need a quadruple bypass. I remember in that moment her face and the compassion. During the time he was in the hospital, Kaylee was part of his care team each time. They say things come in threes and this was a sign. Kaylee was my dad's first nurse on 3 East. She was kind, compassionate, full of energy and very helpful. She connected immediately to my mom and dad, and I am so thankful. Kaylee is such a compassionate, connected nurse that puts her patients, their families and friends first. Mosaic is lucky to have her as a nurse.”

From December 3 – 19, construction at the Emergency Department (ED) entrance will limit access to the medical center in St. Joseph. During this time:

✅ A portion of the hallway from the ED to other areas (e.g., Heart Center, Laboratory, etc.) will be closed.
✅ Patients and visitors should use Entrance 4 for appointments, unless it’s an emergency.
✅ Entrance 4 is located just to the east of the ED entrance.
✅ Signage will be posted, but please plan ahead to avoid extra steps — especially in winter weather.

From generous donations to food drives and creative initiatives like “Tackle Hunger,” caregivers showed what care beyond medicine truly means:

💰 $50,000 contributions from Mosaic and Mosaic Life Care Foundation supported families through United Way.

🥫 Hundreds of pounds of food fortified pantries across Albany, Maryville, and St. Joseph.

🦃 Cancer Care teams provided 30 Thanksgiving meals to cancer patients in need.

This is Mosaic in action — compassion, collaboration, sustainability and commitment to a healthier tomorrow.
