We are monitoring a winter storm expected to move through central Minnesota on Sunday and into Monday. Some forecasts are calling for significant snowfall, and the area is in a Winter Storm Warning from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Monday.

Facilities, Grounds and Life Safety/Security teams are preparing and will be working throughout the storm to keep roads, walkways and building access as safe as possible. Sunday and Monday may feel a bit awkward around campus as snow removal operations are underway.

If you are traveling, please allow extra time and use caution, as conditions may change quickly.

At this point, campus operations remain normal. We will share updates if conditions warrant.

Thank you to everyone who will be helping keep things moving during the storm.

October 28th is National First Repsonders Day.

πŸš’πŸš“πŸš‘ Today we honor our heroes.
On National First Responders Day, we celebrate the brave men and women who run toward danger when the rest run away. From the SJFD, we would like to say thank you to all the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, paramedics, and dispatchers who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe. Your courage and dedication never go unnoticed, and we are grateful to be able to work along side each and every one of you. πŸ’™β€οΈπŸ€

With all the questions surrounding e-bikes and motorized scooters, we wanted to build a graphic that makes it a bit easier for parents to understand the different classifications of these devices, and what your kids are allowed to ride. Hopefully this can help act as a buying guide for anyone looking to purchase one of these in the future as well.
This is based on the current Minnesota statutes already in place, and must followed state wide, not just in Sartell.

Although we are still discussing a potential city ordinance, these state laws are in effect now.
Two of the safety concerns that we are still seeing frequently is kids without helmets, and not stopping at intersections. So, we are again asking for parents help to make sure that you are teaching your kids how to ride safe, and always wear a helmet. Everyone under 18 riding an e-bike or motorized scooter is required to wear a helmet.
