Our hearts were full this Halloween as we welcomed the students from Green Pastures Preschool for a morning of fun and friendship!

The kids went trick-or-treating with residents, played games, decorated cookies, danced, told stories, and made crafts together.

Intergenerational moments like these remind us how special it is when generations connect. The children bring light, curiosity, and laughter, while our residents share wisdom, patience, and love. It’s amazing how time spent together can bring so much joy to both generations!

Rain outside, sunshine inside. Two hours full of laughter and good spirits! We could’ve gone longer, but we were ready for Tuesday Trivia: Halloween Edition!

Bit o’ Halloween Trivia: The Jack o’ Lantern was originally carved from turnips and potatoes. Pumpkins became the go to when Irish immigrants moved to America!

Rainy day? Perfect football weather. We cozied up with chili dogs, soup bowls, apple cider, s’mores, popcorn and pumpkin muffins while cheering on KU and K-State. Our own Sunflower Showdown ended with Ken and Marilyn snagging the K-State basket and Rosylee and Fred taking home the KU win! Fall, football, and friendly rivalry at its finest!

It was a foggy morning for the Alzheimer’s Walk, but the mist felt peaceful, like the world was pausing with us. Monarch butterflies were everywhere, reminding us of hope and transformation. We walked because dementia touches all of us, and research gives us reason to keep moving forward. Big Jay lifted spirits along the way, and Sigma Kappa welcomed us afterward with a warm and thoughtful brunch where our residents were the guests of honor!

It was the perfect sunflower-season afternoon for our very first Tee Time with Tim!

Our residents laughed, putted, and sipped Arnold Palmers with our Assistant Executive Director, Tim, who brought his big heart and fun spirit to the green. Afterward, they shared advice they wish they’d known when they were younger—wisdom, laughter, and sunshine all around!
