On this solemn September 11th, we pause to remember the indelible day of 2001, a date forever etched into the fabric of our nation.
We will never forget the shocking moments that unfolded: at 8:46 AM ET, American Airlines Flight 11 struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center, followed just minutes later at 9:03 AM ET by United Airlines Flight 175 hitting the South Tower.
The horror continued at 9:37 AM ET when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon. Amidst this unimaginable chaos, extraordinary bravery emerged: on United Airlines Flight 93, passengers courageously fought back against the terrorists, leading to the plane's crash at 10:03 AM ET in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, preventing further tragedy.
We recall the heart-wrenching moments the South Tower fell at 9:59 AM ET, and the North Tower at 10:28 AM ET. Today, we honor every single life lost in these horrific acts of terrorism – lives taken too soon, families forever changed.
We also stand in profound gratitude for the selfless heroes: the first responders who rushed into unimaginable danger without hesitation, and the countless brave civilians who gave their lives trying to save others. Their sacrifice and courage will forever be etched in our national memory.
On this day, and every day, we pledge: We will never forget.
