Cancer Association of Auglaize County

Cancer Association of Auglaize County The CAAC has been giving assistance to those cancer warriors that reside in Auglaize County since 200 All monies that are received stay in Auglaize County.

The CAAC is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization that receives no federal funding. We are not affiliated in any way with the American Cancer Society. We rely solely on funding from local organizations such as The United Way of Auglaize County, businesses, churches, school organizations, private donations, bequests, grants and fund raisers. We have members that are more than willing to come and speak on the CAAC's behalf to help make others aware of our organization, various aspects of cancer, what patients, their friends and families endure thru the process and the role of hope and positivity in the healing process. We are always looking for volunteers.

We are pleased to introduce Jaime, a valued member of our board and our treasurer, whose contributions we greatly appreciate. Everyone has their own reason for joining the board, below is Jaime's.

I signed up at the quarter auction last year, went to my first meeting, and never really looked back. I knew pretty quickly that I wanted to help and be involved with the board. I joined because I knew several people already connected to it, including close friends I really respect, and because helping others has always been important to me.
Seeing people I care about affected by cancer also made the mission hit closer to home and confirmed that this was something I wanted to be part of. Before joining, I had no idea how much the board actually does, and now that I see it firsthand, I’m so glad I joined.
I’m also happy to help where I can by answering accounting questions, since I work as an accountant with a firm. I truly enjoy being part of this board and the work we do together.

I would like to introduce our President, Ashly Wente. Ashly is a caring and dedicated leader whose compassion and commitment make her such an asset to our organization. Below are a few words from Ashly about what led her to take on a role with our organization:

I was introduced to the idea of joining the board by a friend, and I chose to join because cancer has had a significant impact on my family. I understand just how important the services and support the association provides can be during such a difficult time. Serving on the board allows me to give back and help make a meaningful, positive difference in our community

Let me introduce you to Anita, the warm and welcoming director of the Cancer Association of Auglaize County, who is always ready with a smile when you visit the office or a friendly voice on the phone when you call.
Below is the reason Anita had initially decided to join the board, then transition into the role of director.

I chose to be part of the Cancer Association of Auglaize County because I have seen firsthand the impact cancer can have on individuals and families. I initially became involved as a board member, wanting to offer my time in support of the association’s mission. When the opportunity to step into the role of director arose, I knew this chapter of my life called for a greater level of service. It allows me to use my empathy and compassion in a meaningful way, by working directly with our clients, addressing their needs, and ensuring the day-to-day operations run smoothly so we can best serve those who rely on us.
