TCPS will have a virtual learning day tomorrow. Our Judy Center trip scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled. We hope to see you on Tuesday.

Due to the weather conditions, TCPS will move to virtual instruction for Monday, February 23, 2026. All Talbot County Public Schools buildings and offices will be closed.

Devices were sent home with all students in grades 1-12, and learning packets were sent home with PreK and Kindergarten students on Friday, February 20.

Teachers in Grades 1-12 will provide synchronous instruction, assignments, and support through our online learning platforms. All synchronous virtual instruction will begin at 8:00 a.m. The 2025-2026 Virtual Instruction Day Plan is linked below. It includes specific schedules and instructions for accessing the learning management system.

For grades 1-12, attendance will be taken, and students are expected to engage in virtual learning. PreK and Kindergarten students will be asynchronous and are asked to complete their learning packets. Please look for communications from your child’s school and/or their teacher.

Why Play Therapy?💛🧸

Because play is a child’s first language. Through play, kids can share big feelings they may not have the words for yet.

We’re sharing a free resource from the Association for Play Therapy that explains the “why” behind this powerful approach: https://www.a4pt.org/store/ListProducts.aspx?catid=382618

At For All Seasons, we offer play therapy with Registered Play Therapists on our team, along with clinicians who thoughtfully use play therapy techniques to support children and families.

Throughout the month of January, our light table center has been transformed with Arctic Magnatiles, inviting children to explore winter habitats, animals, and structures through hands-on play. The glow of the light table sparked curiosity, creativity, and lots of meaningful conversations around the Arctic world!

To extend this learning beyond playgroup, our families were also provided with Arctic Magnatile sets to take home, encouraging continued exploration and connection through play in their own environments.

✨ At home, Arctic Magnatiles support learning in so many ways:
• 🧠 Cognitive development – building, problem-solving, and understanding shapes, balance, and symmetry
• ✋ Fine motor skills – strengthening little hands through grasping, connecting, and constructing
• ❄️ Imaginative play & exploration – creating Arctic habitats, animal homes, and storytelling opportunities
• 🗣️ Language development – describing creations, animals, and environments
• 🤝 Social skills – collaborating, sharing ideas, and building together as a family

We love seeing learning continue beyond our space and into your homes—thank you for partnering with us in play! 💙

Families, due to the delayed opening, limited space in the SMES parking lot, and to avoid interfering with SMES drop-off, our playgroup scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday, February 3, 2026) will be canceled. We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday, February 4th.

Due to continued extreme temperatures and icy road conditions, all Talbot County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay schedule on Tuesday, February 3, to allow additional time for student and staff travel. Employees will follow code green.

Adverse road and sidewalk conditions still exist, so families and staff are urged to exercise caution and patience. We encourage families of students who normally walk to school to provide extra supervision of students on walking routes, or consider transporting students to and from school if possible. Please also use caution when making decisions about student drivers. Some buses may still need to take alternate routes or avoid certain areas due to continued hazards. Please be safe!

TCPS will operate on a 2 hour delay tomorrow, February 2nd. Please be extra careful. Our Judy Center trip scheduled for tomorrow is canceled. We look forward to seeing you at playgroup on Tuesday!

Out of an abundance of caution and to allow additional time for student and staff travel, all Talbot County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay schedule on Monday, Feb. 2. Employees will follow code green.

Some adverse road and sidewalk conditions will still exist over the next few days, so families and staff are urged to exercise caution and patience. We encourage families of students who normally walk to school to provide extra supervision of students on walking routes, or consider transporting students to and from school if possible. Please also use caution when making decisions about student drivers. Some buses may need to take alternate routes or avoid certain areas due to continued hazards.

We thank you for your continued support and patience throughout this extremely challenging weather event.
