❄ Light snow will make its way into the area early Saturday morning, spreading across northeast Wisconsin throughout the day. Periods of light snow then continue through around midnight for most, longer across north-central Wisconsin where lake enhancement is possible. Greatest snowfall amounts are expected along the lakeshore counties and in Vilas.

Watch for changing conditions!!

{Jan 4, 2026 4 AM} A second system brings additional chances for a wintry mix Monday night through Tuesday. Icing is the primary concern as rain and freezing rain fall onto ground and road surfaces that remain very cold from recent sub-freezing weather.

Happy 2026!!

Storm system will bring a round of mixed precipitation to the region beginning later this evening. Periods of freezing rain are expected result in a glaze up to 0.1 inches of ice with locally higher amounts up to 0.2 inches north of Highway 29. Icy/slippery roads/surfaces, especially where untreated. Travel delays expected by ground and air, with difficult travel at times. Minor tree damage and sporadic power outages are also possible.

⚠ Patchy freezing drizzle moves in from the south this evening, resulting in potential for slick spots on untreated surfaces for areas along/south of Hwy 10. Attention then shifts to our next wintry system, arriving late Thursday and lasting through midday Friday. Precip looks to be mostly snow across the north where temperatures remain below freezing, with more rain expected further south. Freezing rain/drizzle will be prone to mixing in between. This is likely to cause impacts to post-holiday travel, so be sure to keep an eye on the forecast and start to plan ahead for potential delays.
