I’m Mayhoua — a certified doula and birth photographer who believes every birth story deserves to be held with softness, honor, and truth. With years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, labor, and early postpartum, my passion is creating a space where you feel seen, heard, and deeply supported.

Today, I had the great honor of witnessing something truly incredible: the birth of a beautiful baby via Cesarean section. This client—this mother—showed me what courage really looks like.

Planned or unplanned, a C-section is still birth. It’s still raw. It’s still brave. It’s still beautiful.

She walked into that operating room with quiet strength and unwavering trust—trust in her body, her birth team, and in the process, even when it didn’t unfold the way she first imagined. There’s something sacred about that kind of surrender, that kind of fierce maternal love.

I watched her bring her baby into the world with grace, every moment filled with love and intention. She asked questions. She advocated for herself. She stayed present, even through the nerves and the unknown. And when her baby was lifted into the air, it wasn’t just the beginning of a new life—it was the powerful culmination of her journey as a mother.

To my amazing client: you did it. You brought life into this world in the most courageous, awe-inspiring way. I hope you never doubt your strength. Your story is one of resilience, and it deserves to be honored over and over again.

I am incredibly honored and am grateful to be invited back to photograph the birth of one of my very first client - this time with their second child.

These are the images that captures the strength of welcoming a new life. One moment, you're breathing through the soft rhythm of contractions, the next you're riding waves that feel like they'll never end. And then, silence, stillness, the sound of a new heartbeat outside your body.

Hi everyone 💜

After much reflection, I’ve decided to take a brief hiatus from offering birth doula services effective on July 1st, 2025 to focus on self-care. I am incredibly grateful for the families I’ve had the privilege of supporting and will always cherish the powerful and beautiful journeys I’ve witnessed.

If you’re expecting or looking for a doula, please feel free to reach out, and I can recommend some amazing colleagues who are ready to support you.

There's something truly magical about capturing those first moments after birth. What an incredible privilege to be invited into my client’s home to document the birth of their baby 🤗 My client had an intimate setting, was surrounded by loved ones and being in the comfort of a familiar spaces, made the experience even more special. From the quiet, peaceful moments to the powerful strength of labor, and finally to the joy of meeting their baby, every moment was filled with love and emotion. It’s an honor to capture such a deeply personal and transformative experience in the comfort of their own home.

Had another wonderful experience with Trillium Midwifery Care. Two wonderful midwives who presents such a calming space for their clients. Always so great to work with you two.

As the year comes to a close, I can't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for all of my incredible doula and birth photography clients. Each of you has welcomed me into your birth journey with open arms, allowing me to witness and capture some of the most beautiful and powerful moments of your lives.

It has been a privilege to be a part of such intimate and sacred experiences, and I am so thankful for the trust you have placed in me. Your strength, resilience, and love have inspired me in ways I cannot put into words.

As we look towards the new year, I am filled with excitement for the growth, connection, and celebration that lies ahead. Thank you for allowing me to do what I love, and for reminding me every day of the beauty and miracle of birth.
