🍬✨ The Healing Power of Joy (Even on Halloween)
For those of us who don’t usually eat sugar or toxins, holidays like Halloween can feel tricky.
We see our favorite childhood treats and feel that familiar tug — nostalgia, temptation, and maybe even guilt.
Maybe you’ve worked hard to avoid dyes and chemicals, or you pride yourself on nourishing your body with only clean foods. And then the candy bowl appears, and suddenly it’s not just about sugar… it’s about choice, worthiness, and joy.
I’m right there with you.
We rarely have sugary treats in our home, and my daughter — almost two — has never had candy. But over time, I’ve learned something important:
Healing isn’t only about what we remove.
It’s also about what we allow in — and sometimes, that’s joy.
So when holidays come around, I ask myself:
✨ Will this indulgence bring me genuine joy?
If the answer is a big yes, I release all judgment.
I let my body receive joy as medicine. Because joy opens pathways that restriction never could.
Being mindful of what you put into your body is powerful.
But so is remembering that your body is built for pleasure, celebration, and connection.
Sometimes the most healing thing you can do… is simply let yourself enjoy the sweetness of life. 🍫🧡
