We were so happy to welcome Matthew Gogola and Kathryn Nora Nelson to Marvella for a Mobday afternoon concert. They played many favorites and requests, and sang an original song that was so beautiful. The song is linked here from YouTube.

Marvella fans of the University of Minnesota women's basketball team cheered their team, from an 8 point deficit to Ole Miss until Gopher Amaya Battle won the game with a jump shot with .8 seconds remaining in the game!
Final score was 65-63. On to the Sweet 16 in Sacramento!

On Wednesday, Dr. Paul V. Miles guided residents through steps toward being a better patient. Dr. Miles provided a workbook to collect pertinent medical information, and discussed how to talk to our medical professionals.

Monday's speaker was Dr. Columba Andrew Stewart, the Executive Director of the HMML (Hill Museum and Manuscript Library.) Dr. Stewart was introduced by Fred de Sam Lazaro and Marvella resident Linda Lovas Hoeschler.

We had an informative Sunday presentation on Ukraine and the Protez Foundation, who help injured military and civilians to receive prosthetics. One of our residents had been a US Ambassador to Ukraine, and offered insightful history and perspectives.

Today artists from the Interfaith Artist Circle worked together with staff to display an Interfaith Prayer Wall in the MIA (Marvella Inspirational Atrium.)
The Interfaith Prayer Wall is a collaborative 6-by-9-foot art installation created by the Twin Cities-based Interfaith Artist Circle to foster unity, peace, and connection across diverse faiths. Conceived by Aimee Orkin, the mural features individual pieces from 18+ artists, including Jewish, Christian, and Muslim, representing "visual prayer" through various media like textile, painting, and beadwork.
