Mental Health Vocab: Equanimity
Equanimity is a psychological state of maintaining calmness and emotional balance in difficult situations. Equanimity is necessary in order to take in another's suffering and to deal with our own. Certainly, equanimity is important within the work we do as therapists, and it is also something individuals can cultivate in themselves.
