About this training series:

Amid uncertainty – professionally, politically, and personally – it can be easy to lose our sense of groundedness and clarity. Within MRA, we recognize that Minnesotans have seen plenty of upheaval in the last year, starting with changes to our rehabilitation field - and therefore our careers. More recently, this has been further compounded by the political climate and occupation of our state by federal forces. Individually, one of these factors is challenging enough to navigate; working through both at the same time can undoubtedly lead us to personally depleting moments.

We recognize the need for moments of care – individually and collectively. Therefore, we have invited Lucinda Pepper to present a four-part series on self-care. Each session will provide different self-care practices within a consistent framework. Join us for as many sessions as you can to further diversify your personal and professional self-care toolbox.

Celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month🙂

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), marking its 80th anniversary in 2025. This year’s theme, “Celebrating Value and Talent,” highlights how workplaces thrive when everyone has the opportunity to contribute. To celebrate, the Minnesota Council on Disability (MCD) is highlighting Connect 700, a state program that expands employment access.

Read the full Connect 700 success story: https://www.disability.state.mn.us/2025/10/17/national-disability-employment-awareness-month-2025-celebrating-value-and-talent/

We have also recently updated the article.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law on July 26, 1990. A groundbreaking civil rights law, the ADA prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation and public/private places open to the general public.

Today, as we mark 35 years of the ADA, we honor the activists, advocates and everyday people who fought for change and continue to fight for full access and inclusion.

At National Disability Institute, we believe the promise of the ADA is still unfolding. Join us in celebrating progress and continuing the work toward equity, access, and opportunity.

Learn more about the ADA and your rights in our ADA Resource Guide:
