When the death of his father led to a decline in his already shaky mental health, Dan turned to Guild for stability. He was paired with one of our specialists, who connected him with the programs and services he needed to get on a path to recovery.
“Guild gave me the tools to rebuild my life,” Dan — who now volunteers at our Community Support Program (CSP) member center to help other Guild clients living with mental illness, told us. “Now, I get to be that person for someone else.”
Your donation will help us support thousands of Minnesotans just like Dan. And thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, your gift will be matched twice, tripling your impact when you donate by December 31st!
Introducing our new annual giving officer! Charles Owens joined the team a little more than two months ago and has already brought to the team energy, insight, and a deep commitment to our mission. For folks living with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression or another psychiatric illness, work is about more than a paycheck. Going to and holding down a job can increase self-esteem and provide much-needed structure to their day.
At Guild, we often say we carry hope for people when they can’t carry it themselves. That’s been Larry’s experience since he and his wife came to Guild in May 2014.
"When you're used to being let down, you stop looking, because you don't want to get let down again," he told us. "Everybody at Guild seemed like they cared. It felt wonderful. That was a big weight to be lifted."
Supporting people in our community living with severe mental illness is vitally important work — work that we can't do alone.
If you give today, your donation will count triple thanks to a generous anonymous donor. A $10 gift becomes $30. A $50 gift becomes $150. And it all helps to support our lifesaving services and help more people like Larry.

In the years before Larry found Guild, he was in and out of hospitals trying to better manage his mental illness symptoms. Nothing seemed to stick. That shifted in May 2014, when Larry met his Guild case manager.
"Everybody at Guild seemed like they cared,” he told us. “It felt wonderful. That was a big weight to be lifted."
We provide our clients with lifesaving mental illness, housing and employment services, and right now you have a chance to make your support count TRIPLE! Every dollar you give today will become three dollars to help Guild clients, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor.

Homelessness is a complicated, multi-layered challenge — layers we see every day when a new client walks through our doors seeking empowerment and support. At Guild, we know each client’s experience is as unique as they are and that addressing homelessness must also be approached in unique ways.
Read more from Trish Thacker, CEO of Guild, over on our blog: bit.ly/4hTOLFF
By Trish Thacker November is National Homelessness Awareness Month, a time when organizations, individuals, and governmental entities bring greater attention to the issue of homelessness, as well as to the many misconceptions society has about people who are unhoused and the “why” and “how” ...

When severe depression, PTSD and bipolar disorder had Larry E. feeling lost, hopeless, and in and out of hospitals, every day felt cloudy … even when the sun was shining.
“I knew I was a better person than where I was at that moment, but I didn’t know how to get to a better spot."
Things began to shift in 2014 when Larry E. first met his Guild case manager. Other mental health professionals had treated him like a number, but at Guild Larry felt hope for the first time in years. Today, he has stable housing, a stronger support network, and the tools he needs to stay well.
You can help us continue this important work today with a donation ... and thanks to a group of generous donors, your gift will be tripled up to $25,000. That means every dollar you give becomes three dollars for our clients!

Make your donation count double! ✌️
It's Give to the Max Day here in Minnesota, and if you make a donation to Guild before midnight tonight, two generous donors will match your gift up to $10,000!
Your gift will help people like April, who struggled with severe mental health challenges before partnering with Guild. With support from our mental health and housing services, April now lives an independent life — and she credits Guild with helping her get to a point where she had the ability to succeed. “Guild let me try. Other places didn't let me try.”
Your gift can go twice as far. Give today! bit.ly/3twsAR5

Guild’s roots go back to the 1970s. In the 70s, Hastings State Hospital closed and The Guild of Catholic Women, a volunteer organization, stepped forward to provide housing for individuals leaving the hospital with no place to go.
In 1990, The Guild of Catholic Women created Guild Incorporated. Guild Incorporated became a separate, not-for-profit organization that continued to provide the services that were originally offered by The Guild of Catholic Women. Guild Incorporated, while working from the history of The Guild of Catholic Women, was no longer affiliated with the volunteer organization that paved the way.
Guild serves Minnesota communities by providing quality, cost-effective services for those living with mental illness or experiencing long-term homelessness. Our services aim to prevent homelessness, unemployment, the use of high-cost emergency room and hospitalization services, and involvement in the criminal justice system. Those outcomes are significant social issues that emerge when individuals with mental illness go without the treatment and services they need to heal and stabilize.
In 2020, Guild Incorporated became just Guild. Guild maintains the organization’s rich history and appreciation for those that came before while looking forward to a future of innovation, expansion, and quality service provision.
Our rich history and current position as an industry leader situate us well for the future. Our three main goals are:
Expand access and grow our sustainable services.
Strengthen our financial health and independence.
Serve our communities as the provider of choice.
As we expand our reach, we will stay resolute in our commitment to meeting unmet needs, as identified by the communities we serve. We are excited and ready to bring our model of integrated care to more individuals and communities in need.
