What is Qoya?
Qoya is a women's embodiment practice based on the idea that through movement, we remember. We remember that our essence as women is like nature - wise, wild, and free. Wise, Wild, and Free also describe the movement forms we explore in class.

Wise: calling on the wisdom of yoga, meditation, ritual, and contemplation.
Wild: celebrating the creative and authentic expression in dance.
Free: the freedom to feel pleasure in the body through feminine or sensual movement by finding and following what feels nourishing to you/

Qoya is also based on the idea that there is no way you can do it wrong. If it feels good to you, that's how you know you are doing it right. It’s a physical movement practice that allows us to shift to get out of our heads and back into our bodies, and we do this by tuning into the physical sensations and the feeling in the body.

This Spring: Honoring Our Humanity

Each class in this series takes us on a somatic journey from our heads down into our hearts. We will explore dancing the theme through ritual, nervous system practices, community sharing, and epic music.

Refresh your step and start spring with us! 🌼 Fundamental Movement taught by Ray Terrill. Developed by Margret Dietz, Mary Wigman’s protégé, this structured workout builds strength, flexibility, and control. The 55-minute sequence includes 20 foundational movements (10 floor- based, 10 standing) that focus on core strength and movement fundamentals. Comparable to a musician practicing scales, this method lays the groundwork for all movement disciplines.

Drawing on principles shared with Joseph Pilates and Rudolf Laban, this class offers a unique blend of modern movement technique and functional fitness. This class builds strength fast. All levels, drop ins welcome.

A 6-Week Exploration of the Energy Within
There’s more happening in the body than muscles and bones. Beneath movement, beneath breath, there’s energy — subtle currents that shape how we feel, think, and move through the world.

This series explores the inner pathways of energy: prana (life force), the nadis (energy channels), and the chakra system. Not as abstract concepts, but as lived experience. As something you can actually feel.

Each week we’ll focus on a different layer of the energy body. Through movement, breath, mudra, meditation, sound, and subtle energy practices, we’ll bring awareness to what’s flowing — and create space where energy wants to move.

Classes include:
• a simple astrology forecast for the week ahead
• breathwork to support energetic balance
• mudras connected to different centers of awareness
• movement designed to open and align
• meditation + sound for integration
• a weekly spiritual practice to stay connected between classes

Why a series?
A series creates rhythm. Over six weeks, the practices build, the nervous system softens, and the work has time to land in the body — not just the mind.
