December Cosmic Weather
I'll report on what is 'cooking' in the sky right now as we get closer to the BIG energies coming our way in February 2026!
1. Mercury retrograde is officially over, but Mercury will be in the post-shadow phase until December 16th. Communication mishaps, emotional processing and integrating as well as trauma release themes are still emphasized. Mercury is in Scorpio until Dec. 11th when it will move into Sagittarius.
2. Venus will be in Sagittarius until December 24th and then she'll move into Capricorn and get a bit more serious. Venus can represent money in astrology and Sagittarius likes to GO BIG OR GO HOME. So, be wary of this specific energy if you are prone to big holiday spending.
3. Mars is also in Sagittarius until December 15th. Mars is a fiery planet and Sagittarius is a fire sign. This is great energy to find your 'spark' again, but also be extra mindful of your triggers and unhealthy impulses.
4. Jupiter is currently retrograde in Cancer until March 11th. Cancer is the sign linked to home & family matters. Jupiter is BIG energy and also symbolizes wisdom and knowledge. Family dynamics across the globe seem to be shifting as more and more people work on healing ancestral trauma. As you increase your conscious awareness, big "a-ha" moments can be expected as you come to a deeper understanding of why you, as a Soul, chose your human Earth family.
5. Saturn has recently ended its retrograde motion in Pisces. Saturn is nicknamed the 'lord of karma' and is now moving forward and on a MISSION to get back to Aries. Karmic clean-ups are happening all across the globe. Saturn is also the planet of work, discipline and authority. More and more people are stepping into their Piscean gifts - empathy, compassion, forgiveness and intuition. Keep up the good work!
6. Uranus is still retrograde in Ta**us until February 4th. As a reminder, the planet of discomfort is in the sign of comfort! As a species, we are learning to get more comfortable being uncomfortable as well as getting more comfortable with the unknown. Uranus is the 'breaker of chains' and Ta**us is famously the most stuck sign of the zodiac. Expect major breakthroughs in the next few months if this planet is activating your chart.
7. Neptune is still retrograde in Pisces until December 10th. Neptune, along with Saturn, will also soon be on a MISSION to get to Aries. Neptune's other name is Poseidon and is associated with oceanic oneness and Universal consciousness. We can expect Neptune to continue to 'dissolve' our personal and collective delusions and illusions. Do we live in a Universe where there is objective truth? I have to admit....I have no idea!
8. Pluto is direct in the early degrees of Aquarius. As a reminder, Pluto will be in Aquarius until the year 2043 ushering in a new era on Earth...the Age of Aquarius!
I'll be writing more about this BIG cosmic month as we get closer, but JUST a heads up on what is to come....all good stuff in my Universe!

Feb. 13th - Saturn moves into Aries
Feb. 17th - SOLAR ECLIPSE at 28° Aquarius - Eclipse Portal OPENS
Feb. 20th - EXACT conjunction of Saturn & Neptune at 0° Aries!!!***
March 3rd - LUNAR ECLIPSE at 12° Virgo - Eclipse Portal CLOSES
***Can anyone out there let me know if they have found when (and if) Saturn and Neptune have EVER aligned at 0° Aries in history? I went back in my software 8,000 years and I have put out feelers online and I have not yet received a confirmed answer.***

I've got one more in person event coming up this month! I'll be at Defining You Fitness in St. Paul on November 18th offering a workshop on THE SIGNS! 🤩
We will explore the energy and symbolism of each sign with fictional and non-fictional examples of famous individuals in history who display each trait. Everyone on Earth is a mix of ALL of the signs of the zodiac. This is a great class to attend if you have never felt like you've resonated with your Sun sign or if you want to learn more about astrology. It can even help you understand your children, family members, friends and partners on another level!
This is a beginner level class, but is also great for more advanced students who want a refresher on the basics. No knowledge of astrology is required to attend.

Earthling Astrology's Evolution
I launched Earthling Astrology in February 2017 thinking that I would be doing astrology readings on the nights and weekends. I was still working full time in the corporate world and never thought for a minute that I'd be able to actually make a living doing this work. It was not in the realm of my belief systems at the time. I still can't logically explain WHY I started an astrology practice. As most of you know, I just LOVE astrology! I also felt like there was a gentle hand on my back guiding me to step into this work the whole time. I reflect often on my journey and just think....WOW. What a ride!
By February 2019, I was two years into my practice offering astrology readings on the nights and weekends. I was also managing a team in my corporate environment. Earthling Astrology was growing, but still nowhere near being able to pay the bills. I was in a meeting with my bosses discussing salary and raises for the employees that I was managing and they gave me numbers that I viscerally disagreed with. Let's just say there was an egregious difference in the raises for the male vs female employees. My bosses drew a line in the sand and indicated that the numbers were not up for negotiation. I RESIGNED ON THE SPOT! I remember screaming and shaking violently while my heart was pounding out of my chest. This whole event took place over the phone as I had started working from home in 2012. I'm surprised I didn't break the phone (or my wrist) when I slammed it down!
The Universe had other plans for me! If that corporate event hadn't happened, I may still be working in that world. I needed the kick. It felt violent! However, I am grateful that the Universe slapped me in the face like that. I was able to dedicate most of my waking hours to my 'side gig!' I cut out every expense I could back then. I picked up odd jobs and even drove for Door Dash to make ends meet. Eventually, Earthling Astrology picked up clients on both coasts. Later, I had my first international clients book. I made numerous podcast experiences and was also a podcast host for a hot minute. I worked side by side with psychic medium Natalie Fowler (https://nataliefowler.com/) for years. I met colleagues and collaborated at numerous yoga studios. I was offered space on the Learn It Live (https://www.learnitlive.com/Bundle/Workshop-Bundle%3A-Obsessed-with-Astrology%21/22662) platform. Day my day, month by month, year by year, I kept doing what I LOVE. While on the path of love, it is inevitable that fear finds its way to you. I was made to face my scarcity/lack mindset around money. I was made to stare my 'impostor syndrome' straight in the face. I was even made to tackle my fear of public speaking! I could go on, but I basically want to say that I'm living proof that you can follow a dream, no matter how small, and the Universe will back you up if you KNOW you are living and walking your authentic truth!
Now, in the next step of Earthling Astrology's evolution, I'm so excited to announce the hiring of Emily Frederick! She will be offering astrology readings starting this month.
Emily and I have mutual connections in the world of past life hypnosis. I've been working with her for months and her calendar is now open for booking! Hear from Emily in her own words:
I’ve been on a quest to understand what makes people the way they are my entire life. In my teen years, I was the counseling friend - the one everyone felt safe talking to and sharing their problems with. I was working on a Master’s degree in Counseling when something shifted inside me, and the plans I had made no longer seemed to fit my life. Through the lens of astrology, I know now I experienced 3 once-in-a-lifetime transits in a short timespan, and deep change was the only possible outcome.
Personality Psychology had remained a huge interest of mine, and I was fascinated by typology assessments like the MBTI and the Enneagram. Over a decade later, I was in the midst of the darkest time of my life when I stumbled upon astrology. This was another once-in-a-lifetime transit, though of course, I had no idea. I began to realize that the personality archetypes I had spent years studying actually had their roots in astrology, and the birth chart was the ultimate personality assessment.
In learning about my birth chart, I felt seen and validated, and like my life was actually serving a purpose. I was finally able to love and accept all of the aspects of my personality that had previously seemed contradictory and often felt burdensome.
I’ve studied at Kepler College and under Steven Forest through the Forest Center for Evolutionary Astrology, and am now a practicing Evolutionary Astrologer. I believe our spirits chose to enter this lifetime to have specific experiences - ones that allow us to alchemize joy, pain, love, and hardship into soul growth - and that the birth chart serves as our road map to understanding and self-acceptance.

Science & Astrology
The Carlson Experiment of 1985 is perhaps the most well known case in history involving academics and astrologers attempting to 'prove' the validity of astrology. From what I understand, scientists and astrologers agreed on the experiment protocol. I also understand that the astrologers failed to prove astrology is any better at prediction than random chance! This topic is very interesting to me as science was, and still is, one of my first loves.
Astrology uses data and calculations that comes from scientific measurements. There is math, astronomy and lots of geometry involved. However, I found out early in my practice that I would often prepare an entire reading for a client and not use ANY of what I prepared once the reading began! I would spend hours poring over chart data, taking notes and doing calculations. When the reading would start, my intuition sometimes would pull me in an entirely different direction. This used to irritate my 'science brain' at the beginning, but now I've learned to trust these intuitive nudges and follow them.
A few months ago, my husband and I discussed one evening how we would design an astrology experiment to 'prove' that astrology has validity. We designed a whole experiment that we both agreed upon and went to bed. By the time I woke up in the morning, I abandoned the whole thing as I had poked too many holes in it!
I now believe that astrology can NOT be proven scientifically. I'm actually OK with that as I've been leaning into more mysticism as I age! Here are some current thoughts about astrology and scientific validity using language as an example. I do believe astrology is just that...a language!
Can you prove scientifically that the words above sound the same, but mean different things? How do you design an experiment to 'prove' that DOUGH means uncooked bread? How could you design an experiment to 'prove' that DOE means female deer? With language, we give it meaning. If you spoke the words above to someone who doesn't understand English, these sounds would not make any sense.
Continuing, how can I 'prove' that Venus in Cancer means something different than Venus in Virgo? You may hear the word "Venus," but her expression throughout the signs can mean different things. Her expression in a chart is also influenced by life experience. Additionally, an individual with Venus conjunct the Sun at birth would have a very different Venusian expression than someone with Venus conjunct Mars at birth.
To add to the complexity of astrological interpretation, each astrologer is wired differently. I've been filtering my life experiences through my Capricorn Sun sign my entire life. I will likely have a completely different view of a birth chart as someone who has a Pisces Sun sign. BOTH readings can be accurate and insightful. However, they would not be considered scientifically sound as the information would not be uniform.
I've conducted small experiments in the past around astrology. My favorite survey was around the topic of déjà vu that I conducted a few years ago. If you weren't subscribed to my newsletter in 2022, I'll repeat my findings for you! I had predicted that Pisces would be the sign that would be prone to déjà vu the most. My data surprised me! My survey suggested that Gemini was the most common Sun sign to experience déjà vu. In my results, Pisces ranked #2 in Sun signs to commonly experience déjà vu. My results are NOT scientifically valid and much more research would be needed with a larger population size. I love astrology research and have lofty ideas of conducting more of it in the future! I began seriously studying astrology after a lifelong interest in astronomy, quantum physics, psychology, and pretty much everything eccentric. In my younger years I loved outer space! I was fascinated by the planets and was president of an Astronomy Club. I always thought astrology was limited to what I read in the horoscope section of the newspaper. After the synchronicities started to pile up, I decided to look further into what astrology was all about.
The seed was planted when I heard someone mention that their dreams seemed to change depending on where the planets were in the sky. I had always noticed that my dreams seemed to amp up at the Full Moon! Most of us have heard tales of how emergency rooms seem to be busier during a Full Moon, and that more babies tend to be born during that time. I once had a car mechanic nonchalantly tell me my car would take longer to fix since they were extremely busy due to the Full Moon. I was so intrigued! If just the Moon could have this much effect on us, what else could I learn?
After reading my first book about astrology, I was instantly addicted. I unexpectedly found astrology to be a perfect combination of all my interests and very far from what we read in a newspaper column. By studying astrology, I have gained a new understanding of how others operate and a new sense of compassion. This insight has allowed for strengthened relationships with others and a better sense of self. I have been studying and training under Moon Rabbit since 2015. Moon Rabbit is an astrologer in St. Paul with over 40 years of experience. She has been a wonderful mentor to me! I am also a member of the Organization for Professional Astrologers (OPA) and the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR).
As for other tidbits about myself, I live in St. Paul with my musician husband Colin and our numerous furry companions. I am certified in Reiki as well as a Crystal Healing Practitioner. I also have an undergraduate degree in Psychology.
Astrology is a fascinating and beautifully symbolic language that we all have access to. Born wonderfully unique and amazing Earthlings, the sky provided each of us with a map. This map is unique for every person on Earth. I'd love to look at your horoscope (i.e. your map) with you! I truly believe that the outer visible universe reflects our own wonderfully complex and rich inner universe.
