As we celebrate this holiday season, we are reminded that our greatest strength lies in our relationships and our compassion for one another.

This year, we launched our Sustain Our Services campaign in place of our Close the Gap campaign to ensure our dedicated staff receive the wages and benefits they deserve. Sustaining this campaign for the long term means we can continue to lift each other up, nurture meaningful relationships, and help every individual live a life of choice and dignity.

This year has been tough as we’ve faced challenges from the Federal government, including cuts to Medicaid and several other assistance programs our staff and the individuals we support rely on every day.

As we close out the year, we hope you will consider The Phoenix Residence during this giving season. Please visit our website to learn about all the ways you can support us this month. All funds raised this giving season will go back to this campaign.

We’re thrilled to share that this Thursday is Give to the Max Day—Minnesota’s annual giving day. As we gear up for this incredible day of giving, we’re reaching out to you, our valued supporter, to help us kickstart our campaign strong.

Our work wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our Direct Support Professionals! Take for example, A’Zirah from Carver House. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure everyone at Carver House receives care tailored to their unique needs.

• For Arthur: She encourages him to participate in activities by setting up the activity ahead of time, complete with a drink, snack, and his tablet in case he gets distracted.
• For Jackie: She does her hair specifically to match her outfit for the day, and of course, always makes sure she is wearing her bracelets that she needs to have a successful day.
• For Cody: She encourages him to help with daily activities around the home, like helping with dinner, setting the table, or doing his exercises and daily walks.
• For Laurel: She always reads Laurel her favorite book, sets the TV to her favorite show, or plays music and dances with her.

She also goes the extra mile to make sure the house is set up for the next person on duty, including getting pajamas and lunches ready.

This is why your support this week is so important! Our Direct Support Professionals are at the heart of carrying out our mission every day. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do this. Our friends at the Women of Nations - Eagles Nest Shelter invited us to their latest Midwest All-Star Wrestling event, and everyone had such a blast! Thank you for inviting us! 🤼‍♂️

🎃 Our annual Halloween Party for the individuals we support was a spook-tacular success! The creativity during our costume contest was incredible, and we were thrilled to announce the winner of our Pumpkin Contest— Foss House! Every entry was unique and full of personality.

🎶 With a DJ spinning our favorite tunes, the dance floor was packed all night. We also had a blast decorating cookies, sharing laughs, and making memories together. 🍪

👻 Thank you to all the staff who made this inclusive celebration possible! We’re grateful for our amazing community and can’t wait to do it again next year!

In the spirit of Halloween, we are holding a Pumpkin Contest! Several of our homes decorated pumpkins, and we've got some creative folks on our hands!🎃
