CMS is moving forward with a policy to add ostomy and urological supplies to Medicare Competitive Bidding. Unlike many DME items, ostomy supplies must be individualized. Forcing them into a lowest-cost model risks limiting patients to inferior products. WOCN is actively opposing this policy and working with Congress to delay or stop implementation.

Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) is leading a Congressional sign-on letter to CMS calling for a delay. The United Ostomy Associations of America has made it easy to quickly email your Congressional delegation and urge their support.
