Honoring Our Veterans at Brookefield Park
Today was such a meaningful and emotional Veterans Day here at Brookefield Park. We were honored to celebrate the incredible men and women who served our country with courage, sacrifice, and heart.

A huge thank you to the Sons of the American Legion for coming in and personally recognizing each of our veterans. They presented beautiful certificates made by AseraCare Hospice, offered a salute to each veteran, and made this day truly special.

We were also blessed by the community:
❤️ Third City Christian School – the students colored heartfelt “Thank You Veterans” pictures that brought so many smiles.
💙 Kids R Kids Childcare -your sweet artwork meant the world to our residents.
🤍 Kaleena Smith – thank you for putting together the adorable goodie bags. They were such a perfect touch.

To our veterans here at Brookefield Park and everywhere we honor you, we appreciate you, and we thank you for your service and sacrifice.
Your bravery made our freedom possible, and we are grateful every single day.

Happy Veterans Day from all of us at Brookefield Park.

Remembering Dean
We’ll miss that quick wit, the way he loved giving everyone a hard time, and the smile that always followed. Dean never missed a good card game, a round of bingo, or a scoop (or two) of ice cream. He loved his music, his newspaper, and every bit of laughter shared along the way.

We’re so grateful for the time, stories, and memories we had with him. Rest easy, Dean you’ll always hold a special place in our hearts.

Things got spooky at Brookefield Park when The Grinch tried to steal Halloween… but our DON wasn’t having it!
With a wild crowd and plenty of laughter from the sidelines, the showdown was on!
In the end, the DON pinned The Grinch and took home the medal proving that at Brookefield Park, teamwork and spirit always win!
We love bringing laughter, creativity, and joy to our residents and staff it’s what makes Brookefield Park such a special place to be!

It’s almost time for some spooktacular fun at Brookefield Park!
Grab your costumes, smiles, and Halloween spirit everyone’s invited to our Trick-or-Treat at Brookefield Park on October 31st from 4–5:30 PM!

Stop by for candy and laughter with our residents and staff.
Candy donations are always appreciated to help keep our buckets boo-tifully full!

Thank you to our amazing community for always bringing joy, support, and smiles to our residents we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

There’s nothing we love more than bringing our residents, families, and community together for our annual Brookefield Park Barn Dance!

Our residents look forward to this event all year the music, laughter, dancing, and smiles make it a night to remember. It’s always such a joy to see everyone tapping their feet, clapping along, and soaking up the fun and friendship.

We’re so grateful for everyone who joined us to enjoy good food, great company, and beautiful weather. The Barn Dance is truly one of those times where we can slow down, celebrate together, and make lasting memories.

Thank you to all who came and helped make this special tradition so full of heart we can’t wait to do it again next year!

In Loving Memory of Albert❤️

Some people just have a way of brightening every room and he was one of those people. His gentle spirit, his love for music, and his kind laugh made Brookefield Park a sweeter place in every way.

He loved to sing “You Are My Sunshine,” and truly, that’s what he was to us our sunshine. There was never a dessert he didn’t like (especially cookies and Peeps!), and we’ll always remember the cookie crumbs and smiles he left behind.

He was proud of the life he built from serving our country as a dedicated Army veteran, to owning Meyers Gas Station in Palmer for 47 years, to serving his community as the Mayor of Palmer for many years. He loved to talk about those days, and you could hear the pride in his voice every time he shared a story.

More than anything, he loved his family. He was so proud of his kids and looked forward to their Sunday visits all week long. He knew they’d be bringing something sweet! Whether it was a plate of goodies or a bag of his favorite treats, those visits always came with love (and dessert, of course). He would light up just talking about them.

He never missed his newspaper, always wanting the obituaries read aloud “You never know who might be in there!” he’d say with that unforgettable laugh. Of course the Palmer paper had to be read to him couldn’t miss that weekly paper. And of course, he loved Husker game day, always dressed in red and ready to cheer.

Even when his eyes grew tired, he still knew your voice in the hallway and would greet you with that same warm smile.

He filled our halls with music, laughter, and love. We’ll miss his songs, his stories, and his sweet tooth but most of all, we’ll miss him. ❤️
