We are pleased to recognize one of our own who has been nominated as Quarterly Employee of the Year at Great Lakes Management as he strongly demonstrates one of GLM's core values.

Resourcefulness- Louis Ruiz, Director of Maintenance at Seven Hills

Louis is being nominated by our Float Maintenance team member, Jim Rosen, who works closely with maintenance staff across our communities. Jim shared that Louis is one of the strongest maintenance team members he has worked with. Louis consistently demonstrates resourcefulness by jumping in wherever needed, finding solutions, and approaching every task with a willingness to learn and grow. After already working a full day at Seven Hills, he recently stepped in to support a Student Housing community when a boiler went down spending hours going unit-to-unit to ensure residents had heat, all while maintaining a positive attitude. What stands out most is Louis’s mindset. He embraces new challenges, takes pride in learning, and is always willing to go the extra step. His Executive Director, Claire, shared that he truly cares for residents, always has their best interests in mind, and brings a positive attitude and sense of humor to the team each day. Louis’s adaptability, initiative, and commitment to others make him a strong reflection of our core value of Resourcefulness.
