đźš‘ Welcome to the Team, Cruiz!

We’re excited to welcome Cruiz to the Smith EMS team as a Sports Medic.

Cruiz is a Certified EMT who works full-time on a 911 ambulance in rural Wisconsin, bringing real-world emergency response experience to the sidelines at Smith EMS events.

As a former competitive athlete — earning honors like Varsity Baseball MVP, Catcher of the Year, and a State 2nd Place finish in swimming — Cruiz understands the intensity and commitment athletes bring to every game.

He joined Smith EMS because he wants to help support athletes’ futures while providing insight on player health and development.

His favorite part of the job?

➡️ Helping athletes improve 1% every day.

Welcome to the team, Cruiz.

đźš‘ Welcome to the team, Ann!

Ann joins Smith EMS as a Sports Medic and Certified EMT, bringing years of leadership, coaching, and high-pressure decision-making experience into the world of emergency medicine.

Before EMS, Ann spent many years coaching athletes, which sparked her desire to move to the other side of sports and help care for athletes when injuries happen. That experience gives her a great understanding of the game environment and the importance of quick, confident care on the sidelines.

Ann recently completed her EMT training and holds active National Registry and Minnesota EMT certifications, with training in patient assessment, airway management, bleeding control, and trauma care.

Outside of events, you’ll likely find Ann spending time outdoors, working out, or watching sports.

We’re excited to have her on the team.

300+ hours of hockey.
65+ hours of basketball.

From Orono to Hopkins.
Blaine to Farmington.
Circle Pines to Elk River.
Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Minneapolis — and more.

One weekend. Multiple sports. Countless athletes.

Our medics showed up visible, ready, and moving — not sitting behind a table. Fast response. Clear communication. Professional presence.

Welcome to the team, Lindsey 👏

Lindsey is officially joining Smith EMS as a Sports Medic.

As a Certified Emergency Medical Responder working toward her EMT certification and pursuing nursing, Lindsey brings a strong passion for patient care, professionalism, and connecting with athletes at every level of play. Her background working closely with kids and families shows up in how she communicates, supports, and shows up on scene.

What stood out most? Lindsey values professionalism and individuality—two things we take seriously at Smith EMS.

When she’s not working events, she’s spending time with friends, staying active, or soaking up the sun.

Glad to have you on the team, Lindsey.

Always learning. Always refining.

Earlier this week, spent time on a ride-along with the , gaining valuable insight into the coordination, communication, and decision-making that takes place after a patient leaves our onsite care.

Huge thanks to Roy Mokosso, District Chief with the SPFD for making the opportunity possible and for sharing perspective on high-performing Fire & EMS systems.

🚨 Welcome to the team, Jess! 🚨

We’re excited to welcome Jess to Smith EMS as one of our Sports Medics. She brings years of hands-on experience across emergency and prehospital care, with a strong background in high-acuity environments and fast-paced clinical decision-making.

Jess combines her field experience with a deep interest in movement, recovery, and performance as she finishes her degree in exercise science. When she’s not on shift, you’ll find her staying active through rock climbing and cycling.

She chose Smith EMS for our professional standards and our focus on delivering high-quality care at every event—and we’re proud to have her on the team helping keep athletes and communities safer. Welcome, Jess. 👏
