Meet Dr. Zach Harbaugh!
Dr. Zach is passionate about helping people move better, recover from injuries, and get back to the activities they love.
A dual-credentialed chiropractor and board-certified athletic trainer, Zach has dedicated his career to sports medicine, injury recovery, and performance optimization since 2018. Before becoming a chiropractor, he spent several years working in sports medicine, gaining hands-on experience treating athletes and active individuals at all levels.
Dr. Zach earned his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Winona State University and later completed a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science at South Dakota State University. During graduate school, he served as the head athletic trainer for the SDSU Division I baseball team and assisted with the football program, gaining extensive experience managing orthopedic and sports injuries.
After graduate school, Zach worked at TRIA Orthopedic Center in the Acute Injury Clinic and orthopedic urgent care, where he helped evaluate and triage a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries. His time there strengthened his interest in high-level orthopedic and sports medicine care.
Dr. Zach later earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University, completing a sports and rehabilitation emphasis. He is also trained in Graston Technique, an advanced form of instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy used to treat scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and chronic inflammation.
At Ascend Sport and Spine, Dr. Zach blends manual therapy, chiropractic care, soft tissue treatment, and rehab-based exercise to help patients not only get out of pain, but build strength, resilience, and confidence in how their bodies move.
Outside the clinic, Zach enjoys spending time with his wife Danielle, their son Beckett, and their dog Leia. He’s also a lifelong Star Wars fan and a board game enthusiast who’s always up for a little friendly competition.
We’re excited to have Dr. Zach serving the community at Ascend Sport and Spine.
