That one question changed everything for him.

Because deep down, he knew it wasn’t just about losing weight.

It was about stewardship.

About honoring the gifts God gave him….his health, his energy, his ability to show up strong for the people who matter most.

For years, he brushed it off…

❌ “I’m just getting older”
❌ “Work is stressful”
❌ “I’ll fix it later”

But later never comes on its own.

So he stopped waiting for motivation
and started taking responsibility.

Not with extreme diets.
Not with hours of cardio.

For the longest time, I kept saying “when things slow down.”

When work’s not so busy.
When life’s less stressful.
When I have more time.

But that moment never came.
Because life doesn’t slow down……and the longer you put your health on hold, the more you feel the cost.

One day I decided to stop waiting and start showing up with purpose….physically and mentally.

No starving myself.
No strict diets.
No hours in the gym.

Just science-based structure….a system built for real life.

30+ pounds down.
Stronger body.
Sharper mind.
Energy through the roof.

Some of the greatest lessons I’ve ever learned didn’t come from books, classrooms, or even football. They came from my dad….my mentor, my role model, the greatest leader I’ve ever known.

He led with strength, humility, and conviction….not by demanding respect, but by earning it through his actions.
He showed me that leadership isn’t about being loud or dominant….it’s about consistency, discipline, and showing up for the people who count on you.

His actions spoke louder than any words ever could.

The way he worked. The way he treated people. The way he loved our family.
That’s what real leadership looks like.

When I played football for Ohio State University under Urban Meyer. I carried more than my number…I carried the lessons he instilled in me.
Work hard. Stay humble. Keep your word. Be the man others can depend on.

I’ve fallen short many times.
Made mistakes.
And every single time, he was there….not to judge me, but to pick me up, guide me, and point me back in the right direction.

He reminded me that failure doesn’t define you……how you respond does.

He passed away in 2020 from cancer.
That loss hit very hard….it was unexpected

I had regrets from my past…..times I didn’t fully listen or appreciate his wisdom the way I should have.

It knocked me back for a while, dwelling on the things I wished I’d done differently…..missed conversations……the times I didn’t fully listen or show how much I cared.

If I could go back, I’d be a better son… I’d make him more proud

Something that I realized during this process…..Is that real strength….
real leadership……..is understanding that he wouldn’t want me to stay down and dwell on those things.

He’d want me to take everything he has taught me…and make him proud.

To stand up, live with purpose, and keep carrying his lessons forward.

That’s the kind of legacy I want to continue.
I’m not perfect…..I still fall short.

But I’m committed to working on myself, my weaknesses, and the areas of my life that need growth.

I’ll miss him and love him forever.
And every day, I’ll keep striving to honor him….not just with words, but through the way I live, lead, and love the people around me.
