Two weeks ago we met the boy who made us parentsš«¶š¼
Things that parenthood have already taught me:
š§ø slow down and take in every moment ā the little noises, faces, grasping of his little fingers, and of course the cuddles
š§øbe patient and responsive ā every cry is communication of a need that can only be fulfilled by his parents. Food, diaper changes, and regulation. Without means to regulate on his own, he relies on us to calm his nervous system.
š§ø have a grateful mindset ā the interrupted sleep, endless feedings, and diaper changes can be a lot. Remembering how grateful we are to have created life and get to love him make it a lot easier to say āI GET to do this for himā instead of āI HAVE to do thisā
