April is Counseling Awareness Month, and we’re excited to highlight the incredible impact of mental health counselors — including the dedicated team at Hoffmann Counseling Services.

Mental health counseling creates a safe, supportive space for individuals to explore emotions, build coping skills, heal from trauma, and grow stronger in their daily lives. Our counselors work every day to empower youth and families with tools that promote resilience, connection, and hope.

✨ Here’s to the counselors who show up with compassion, courage, and care — your work changes lives.

This week, Brigitte and Maleah had the pleasure of representing Leo A. Hoffmann Center at the Gustavus Adolphus College Employer Tabling Job & Internship Fair.

We always enjoy connecting with Gustie students—their energy, curiosity, and commitment to helping others align so well with our mission. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with many Gustavus students and alumni, and this partnership continues to be strong and meaningful.

Building relationships with future professionals who are passionate about making an impact is one of our favorite parts of this work. Thank you to Gustavus for hosting another great event—and to all the students who stopped by to learn more about opportunities at Hoffmann!

As we enter the final week of Women’s Month, we honor the women who have shaped — and continue to shape — the mental health field with courage, compassion, and unwavering strength.
From clinicians and counselors to advocates, direct‑care professionals, therapists, researchers, and support staff… women are the backbone of mental health care.

Every day, they show up with empathy, resilience, and a deep belief in the dignity and potential of every person they serve.

💛 They listen when the world feels heavy.
💛 They show compassion when someone feels unseen.
💛 They bring calm into chaos, and hope into hardship.
💛 They lead teams, inspire progress, and fight for better systems and better outcomes.

This week, we celebrate the women who care for our communities — and often care for everyone before themselves.

Your work changes lives. Your voice matters. Your impact is lasting. To all the extraordinary women in mental health: Thank you for your strength, your heart, and the healing you bring to the world.

You are seen. You are valued. And you continue to inspire all of us.

March is Social Worker Month, and we want to take a moment to recognize the heart, dedication, and compassion of the amazing social workers who make Hoffmann Center stronger every single day.

To Maleah, Monica, Meghan, Jake, Amya, Aji, Maddy, Kelli, Tricia, and Amanda — thank you for showing up with empathy, determination, and unwavering commitment to the individuals and families you support.

You are the steady presence during difficult moments, the advocates who ensure every voice is heard, and the guides who help others find hope, healing, and possibility. Your work is not just meaningful — it is life‑changing. We are grateful for each of you — this month and every month.

Hoffmann Center was proud to attend the 2026 MSSA Annual Conference & Expo, the largest health and human services conference in the Midwest, bringing together thousands of professionals each spring at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

This year’s theme — “Unleash the Storm” — set the tone for three powerful days of learning, connection, and innovation (March 11–13, 2026).

With over 3,000+ attendees gathering from across Minnesota’s health and human services community, the event featured inspiring speakers, in‑depth educational sessions, and endless opportunities to strengthen collaborations in mental health, social work, disability services, and community resources.

Our team had an energizing week connecting with partners, attending impactful sessions, and bringing home new ideas to enhance the work we do every day for the individuals we support.
We’re grateful to be part of a statewide network that continues to push human services forward — and we’re already excited for next year.

🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀
Today is often filled with fun, celebration, and a bit of extra green — but it can also be a great reminder to check in with ourselves and with others. Just like a four‑leaf clover, mental well‑being has many parts: connection, support, balance, and hope.

💚 Take a moment today to:
• Check in on a friend or loved one
• Practice a small act of self‑care
• Step outside and enjoy a breath of fresh air
• Remind yourself that it’s okay to ask for help

May your day be filled with kindness, connection, and a little extra luck. You’re not alone — and support is always within reach.

Here are a few powerful facts about women in mental health today:

📊 Women make up more than 70% of the U.S. therapist workforce, representing the majority of professionals providing direct mental‑health care across the country.

📊 In psychology, women now represent 58% of practitioners, continuing to grow their presence across research, clinical practice, and academia.

📊 Social work remains one of the most female‑led professions, with women holding the majority of licenses nationwide, according to recent national workforce surveys.

These numbers aren’t just statistics — they reflect the compassion, expertise, and leadership women bring to behavioral health every day.

From trailblazers in research and advocacy to clinicians and community supports on the front lines, women continue to drive innovation, expand access to care, and champion equity in mental health.

To all the women advancing healing and hope in our communities: we see you, we celebrate you, and we honor the impact you make.
