Thank you to BJC HealthCare and the St. Louis Blues for their incredible generosity in presenting Community Living with two ZOLL AEDs 💙🏒

Through the sale of special St. Louis Blues t-shirts in the Team Store, more than $3,300 was raised for The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital to fund AEDs for the community, and we’re honored to be a part of that.

These AEDs provide a critical layer of safety for the people we support and our staff. In the event of sudden cardiac arrest, immediate access to an AED, alongside CPR, can be lifesaving. With trained staff at each of our locations, this equipment strengthens our ability to respond quickly until EMS arrives.

We’re so grateful for this partnership and the Blues’ commitment to keeping our community safe!

When Allison walks into the Judy Mahon Center, her smile lights up the room!

Allison has been connected to Community Living since high school, when she attended the SOAR program. Today, at the Judy Mahon Center, she spends her days staying active, connecting with peers, and taking on responsibilities she’s proud of. She enjoys helping out with tasks at the center and volunteering in the community. For her family, finding a place where Allison felt welcomed, supported, and included brought reassurance and peace of mind.

“We’ve struggled with finding a place where Allison can fit in. We’ve found that at the Mahon Center,” her parents shared.

Help us ensure individuals like Allison have access to services and opportunities so they can live their best lives! Join us at our 26th Annual Legacy Ball on Feb. 14! Proceeds from the event make these opportunities possible.

When Jennifer re-entered the workforce after years as a stay-at-home mom, she found her passion for working with people with disabilities. While earning her degree in human services, she completed an internship with Community Living. She soon became an integral addition to the Day Habilitation team at the Kenny Wilson Center, so much so that she stayed on as a full-time staff member upon completion of her degree.

“From the moment I walked through the doors of Community Living on my first day, I knew right away that I had found the place where I was truly meant to be. The sense of purpose and belonging I experienced confirmed that no other employer or organization could compare.”

This winter, Jennifer has transitioned to a new leadership role as the manager of Community Living's second location in the Young Adult Program. While she'll miss her "family" at the Wilson Center, she's eager to apply her education and compassionate nature to a new group of people just a few doors down. “Having the opportunity to make a difference and serve as a consistent support system is truly rewarding," she said. "The connections I have built with the individuals I support, as well as with my fellow staff, have left a lasting and deeply meaningful impression on me.”

Jennifer’s introduction to Community Living wasn’t through a job board or a career fair; it happened on a ballfield. She first discovered our organization while playing in an Adult Recreation softball game for the Cottleville Firefighters Outreach with her husband. Spending the day playing again...
