On Tuesday, April 7, 2026 St. Charles County voters will decide on Proposition RT — a ballot measure that would cap local property tax revenue and could significantly reduce funding for services supporting adults with developmental disabilities.

🔴 A YES Vote Means: Limiting or reducing funding for county services that support people with disabilities.
🟢 A NO Vote Means: Protecting funding for county services that support people with disabilities.

The stakes are real. If Prop RT passes, funding cuts could eliminate or severely reduce the employment training, job placement, workplace support, and community-based employment programs that the people we serve depend on. For the adults at Community Living, Inc., these aren’t optional extras — they are the difference between meaningful work and unemployment, between independence and isolation, between dignity and dependence.

Alyssea launched her career at Community Living in the S.O.A.R. program and recently accepted a new full-time leadership role in Adult Recreation.

“I have found a group of people that I will be friends with for the rest of my life. Some of these people have taught me things I never would have known before and most of all this place and these people allow me to be myself.”

Building community is an essential part of helping people live their best lives, even for our staff! For Alyssea, it's one of the top reasons she still loves coming to work after nearly a decade at Community Living. Congrats to Community Living's DSP of the Year, Will Schulte! 🎉

Will has been part of Community Living for almost seven years and is currently an outstanding DSP at the Young Adult Program in St. Charles. He was surprised on Friday with this well‑deserved recognition and everyone was thrilled to celebrate him!

Will goes above and beyond every day to make a meaningful impact on those around him at the YAP. He takes the time to listen, guide, and uplift both participants and teammates. His dedication to quality care, advocacy, and person‑centered service reflects the very best of what a Direct Support Professional can be.

He will also be recognized at the 2026 DSP Gateway Coalition Conference dinner on April 9th. 💛
