About the Therapist

Jim Started his massage career in 2001 after graduating from Rising Spirit Institute in Atlanta, GA. The school put a strong emphasis on anatomy and physiology and musculoskeletal kinesiology. While attending Rising Spirit Jim received training and certification in Neuromuscular Therapy from the International Academy of Neuromuscular Therapy, a Judith DeLany program based in St. Petersburg, FL. He specializes in therapeutic deep tissue and neuromuscular massage with a focus on pain relief and restoring the body to a place of balance.

While understanding body mechanics and utilizing good massage techniques are essential elements of a great massage knowing pathologies and contraindications is just as crucial to getting the results the client needs. Jim continues to take continuing education in massage techniques and healing modalities so he can offer his clients the quality massage they want.

Jim’s private practice started in Atlanta in September 2001 and remained his full-time career until he relocated to Florida in 2015. In Florida Jim was a massage therapist for Baycare and a lead therapist for the S.M.I.L.E. Team, an outreach program that brought massage into hospitals and community events. His new office is in St. Petersburg, FL inside Spa Island Wellness on Central Avenue.
