Here are some questions to ask ourselves in regard to things we don't often give enough credit to, when it comes to our overall health and wellbeing, but should.
What are we reading?
Listening to?
Watching?
Does it uplift us and edify us? Does it make us focus on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy, as we are told to do in Philippians 4:8?
What we think on matters. What we read, listen to and watch will impact how and what we think.
What does our circle look like? Are the people we surround ourselves with encouraging us, and building us up? Do they inspire us to do better and BE better? Or... do they gripe and gossip? Do they inspire us to move closer to God? Or... do they help move us further away?
Who we associate with matters. We will become more like those we spend time with, for better or worse. We must choose wisely.
How do we speak to ourselves? Do we call ourselves names? Are we patient and gentle with ourselves when we make mistakes? Do our words build or tear us down? What are we speaking into our own lives and circumstances?
What we say matters. Our words hold the power of life and death. Self deprecation is an often overlooked sin that many of us mistake for humility. We must pay attention to our self talk.
How do we start and end our day? Do we reach for our phones first, and scroll social media... or do we reach for the word, and to connect with our Creator?
How we start and end our day matters. Start and end your day with God in humility and gratitude.
We are the gate keepers of our hearts, and the Bible says that ALL of the issues of life, spring forth from here.
We must cultivate accordingly.
