Please JOIN US at the steps of St Pete City Hall and stand in SOLIDARITY with our Trans siblings. Your presence matters NOW more than ever. β€οΈπΉ

βThose attending should meet at St. Petersburgβs Sunshine Senior Center, 330 5th St. N. at 630pm
A candlelight procession will leave from the center and end at the steps of City Hall, 175
5th St. N., where a memorial will be held.
π³οΈββ§οΈ Guests of honor, include members of the transgender and Gender Expansive community.
Candles will be provided, but please bring your own if possible.
After the vigil we invite everyone to take a short walk to The Hollander Hotel St. Pete located at 421 4th Ave N to spend time together, connect, unite, and, be there for each other.
Transgender Day of Remembrance was started by transgender activist Gwendolyn Ann
Smith as a way to honor the memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was killed in 1999. The vigil honors the lives of all transgender and gender expansive people who lost their lives due to fatal violence each year.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance has grown into an annual nationwide memorial for the transgender and gender expansive community.β
