From "What If" to "What Is"

Your mind loves to ask “What if?” when uncertainty shows up.

❌ What if everything falls apart?
❌ What if I can’t handle this?
❌ What if it all goes wrong?

But here’s the reframe: Instead of focusing on what if, come back to what is.

✔ Right now, I am safe.
✔ Right now, I have tools to cope.
✔ Right now, I don’t have to solve everything—I just need to take the next step.

Shifting from fear of the unknown to trusting yourself in the present is a game changer.

If this resonates, you’ll love my latest blog on how to manage uncertainty. Read it here: https://buff.ly/4k80W2N

Control What You Consume

Let’s talk about doomscrolling. 👀

Yes, staying informed is important. But constantly consuming fear-based content doesn’t make us more prepared—it just keeps our nervous systems in overdrive.

Try setting some gentle boundaries with the news and social media:

📱 Limit news consumption to 10 minutes in the morning + 10 minutes in the evening.
📱 Follow trusted sources instead of sensationalized headlines.
📱 Take social media breaks when needed.

Your peace is worth protecting. 💛

The Power of Breath

When was the last time you took a deep, intentional breath?

When anxiety takes over, our breath gets shallow—and that sends signals to the brain that we’re not safe, even when we are.

Next time you feel overwhelmed, try this:

🫁 Inhale for 4 counts.
🫁 Hold for 4 counts.
🫁 Exhale for 6 counts.

Making your exhale longer than your inhale slows your heart rate and helps regulate your nervous system. It’s one of the simplest ways to bring yourself back to the present.

Try This Grounding Exercise

Feeling stuck in an anxiety spiral? Try this 5-4-3-2-1 grounding method to bring yourself back to right now:

👀 Name 5 things you see.
👂 Identify 4 things you hear.
🤲 Touch 3 things around you.
👃 Notice 2 things you smell.
👅 Find 1 thing you taste.

This simple exercise can help calm your nervous system and shift your focus from what if to what is.

Acknowledging the Uncertainty

Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in "what if" spirals? You’re not alone. The world feels extra unpredictable right now, and uncertainty can be exhausting—especially when you're trying to juggle work, life, and your own well-being.

But here’s the good news: You don’t have to stay stuck in fear. Managing uncertainty is possible, and it starts with bringing yourself back to the present.

✨ I wrote a blog with therapist-approved strategies to help you feel more grounded in times of uncertainty. ✨

What’s one thing that helps you feel more present when anxiety creeps in? Drop it in the comments! ⬇️

Lately, in session after session, we’ve been talking about how to manage uncertainty and the overwhelming emotions it brings. People feel anxious, scared, powerless, and overwhelmed. There are other emotions, too—like anger and sadness—but

Overwhelmed? Stop. ✋
Take a breath. 🌬

Try this quick breathing technique:
1️⃣ Inhale through your nose for 4 counts.
2️⃣ Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts.
3️⃣ Repeat for 1–2 minutes.

Lengthening your exhale calms your nervous system and helps you reset. ✨

When the world feels like too much, remember—you can always come back to your breath. 🌿

🛑 Have you tried a media detox? 🛑

The news is overwhelming—and it’s okay to take a break. Try scheduling one day a week to unplug from news updates, social media, and notifications. Use that time to reconnect with yourself, loved ones, or nature. 🌳

I call it “Media-Free Sunday,” and it’s been a game-changer for my mental health. Give it a try and see how much lighter you feel.

What’s your favorite way to unplug? Let me know in the comments! 💬

✨️ The world won't stop spinning if you set boundaries- and neither will the news ✨️

The 24/7 news cycle can feel like a tidal wave of negativity. Protect your mental health by choosing what you consume and when you consume it. You don't have to read every update or watch every story.

✅️ Start small: Unfollow accounts that drain you.

✅️ Set a time limit for checking the news.

✅️ Give yourself permission to step away.

You can care about the world and care for yourself. 🌿
