HYPE or HELP?
Should you actually spend your $$ on these skincare trends in 2026 👀👇
Let’s break it down, no fluff.
❌ Beef tallow — HYPE
It’s moisturizing, yes… but it doesn’t actively treat aging, pigment, acne, or texture. No proven actives, no skin-changing benefits. Moisture alone isn’t skincare.
✅ Tinted SPF — HELP
Daily sun protection is non-negotiable. Tinted SPF adds visible light protection (huge for dark spots + melasma) and encourages consistent wear. This one actually prevents aging.
❌ At-home LED masks (not professional grade) — HYPE
Most don’t have the power, wavelength consistency, or usage compliance to create real change. Looks cool, minimal payoff.
✅ Microneedling — HELP
One of the few treatments that truly stimulates collagen and elastin. Improves texture, fine lines, pores, and firmness when done professionally and consistently.
✅ Retinol — HELP
Gold standard for aging. Increases cell turnover, smooths fine lines, improves tone and texture, and keeps skin functioning like younger skin (when used correctly).
❌ Snail mucin — HYPE
Hydrating and soothing, yes. Anti-aging powerhouse? No. It won’t stimulate collagen or correct damage. Think comfort product, not transformation.
✨ The takeaway:
Trendy doesn’t mean effective.
If it doesn’t stimulate collagen, protect from sun damage, or improve cell turnover, it’s probably hype.
Spend smart. Your skin will thank you. 💁♀️
