More and more patients, friends and family are asking for guidance, explanations and what to believe. The article below is from The Lancet, a very well respected, peer-reviewed journal.

No, Covid is not a hoax! It should NOT be a political football either.

For the record, I don’t like wearing a mask, but I do as it’s essential for us all to wear a mask. We are in Key West where it is REQUIRED to wear a mask everywhere. It really isn’t too much to ask that we all temporarily wear a mask until we get Covid under control.

If you have loved ones at higher risk of morbidity and mortality (over 65, overweight- especially BMI over 35, asthma, immune suppression- then encouraging them to wear eye protection (preferably goggles) in addition to a mask when out in public is a gesture of caring and love.

Current thoughts are our most at risk population are those over 65, overweight, asthma, diabetes, hypertension and immune suppressed. I have been recommending to wear eye protection in addition to masks. COVID is a respiratory virus and infects via eyes, nose and mouth, just like influenza and the common cold.

Please consider wearing eye protection in addition to masks when in public places to protect yourselves!

We have 2 male Physicians, 3 Nurse Practitioners and a Licensed Aesthetician for your skin care needs. You can be confident that our dedicated staff works together as a team to provide high-quality comprehensive care by every provider, in every location.

For your convenience we have we have 3 state-of-art-locations. The office known as Armstrong Dermatology is located at 9170 Oakhurst Road in Seminole. Dermatology Specialists of West Florida has 2 offices. The office located at 5200 Seminole Blvd, St. Petersburg, is where our professional medical spa and Aesthetician services are offered. The third and newest office is located at 2329 Sunset Point Road in Clearwater.
