The ability to make hand-made Himalayan and Tibetan arts and crafts are skills that are rapidly dying out – being replaced by machine-made copies produced in other counties. So how do you know what you are getting? These days, people make claims and say things on the internet that are simply not true. Hand-made, eco-friendly, child labor free - but how can we trust them? What if they are not even made by Tibetans or Nepalese? What if they are made by machine with cheap materials in China or somewhere else? I come from a family where my grandfather, himself, made baskets, shoes, mats, and other items by hand. My mother and aunts made beautiful winter and summer clothes for both men and women, also by hand. My dream is to keep these wonderful “true” Himalayan arts and crafts alive, as well as providing opportunities for better lives and education by helping local Himalayan and Tibetan families keep up their great art and crafts skills alive by buying the products directly from them and encouraging them. I only carry quality, meaningful, unique products which I import directly from the people who made them; therefore I know exactly where they are from and I can sell them at a reasonable price.
