INNERMOST KNOWING, MYSTIC TRUTHS

True knowledge is not found in facts and figures in scholarly books on library shelves. Shedding Skins

Something within me has been outgrown. The time has come to shed an old skin, uncovering my next incarnation. At times transformation can feel blissful, as if I am dissolving in the chrysalis of metamorphosis curiously awaiting the emergence of a beautiful new reality. Astrological Correspondence: Libra 

The Karma card is the mirror card to Justice in traditional tarot. The inspiration behind this card comes from Egyptian mythology and the idea of the "weighing of the soul." Ancient Egyptians believed that, when we die, our souls are judged before entering the afterlife. To reach the eternal paradise of the Field of Reeds, one had to pass through the trial by Osiris, Lord of the Underworld and Judge of the Dead, in the Hall of Truth (also known as the Hall of Two Truths).

This trial involved the weighing of one's heart against the feather of truth using the scales of Ma'at, which depict the natural order, harmony, justice, morality, and truth. The divine order that states how things are supposed to be. For a soul to reach the afterlife, the weight of the heart should be as light as a feather.

This raises the question as to what our divine state is, and how can we define that for ourselves. The soul is a blank canvas, and every life we experience fills that canvas with new information and new experiences. When our ego and desires get in the way of that divine harmony that rules us, we become increasingly disconnected from ourselves, from our truth, from our own divinity. The Karma card invites us to balance the scales of our lives-to reflect on the actions we took in the past and analyze the impact of those actions. If these have not been beneficial, how can we be of service to others? How can we rewire these actions?
