🍀 St. Patrick’s Day Encouragement from The Remedy Project ➕

St. Patrick’s Day can bring a lot of pressure for anyone in recovery. If this holiday feels heavy, take heart.

“The Lord is faithful to strengthen you.” — 2 Thessalonians 3:3

Your choice to stay sober is brave. Your story is still unfolding. And you are held — even on the hard days.

If you need support, reach out. You don’t have to walk this road alone.

Share this with someone who may need it - we are all in this together.

We look forward to seeing you in Group!

Our Christ-centered recovery program men's and women's groups meet separately on Mondays.

The purpose of FFR is to educate family members about addiction and its impact on all members of the family. The sessions cover topics such as codependency and enabling while offering emotional support to family members.

There is no cost to attend our group meetings.

For more information about these meetings contact John at (912) 580-7679.

When You’re Worried About Someone You Love

If you’re noticing changes in someone you care about—emotionally, physically, or behaviorally—it’s okay to trust your instincts. You don’t have to diagnose the problem to start a conversation.

Try beginning with care:

“I love you, and I’m concerned. Can we talk about what’s been going on?”

Addiction thrives in silence. Healing grows in connection. And you don’t have to navigate that conversation alone—our team is here to support families just as much as individuals.

Addiction Isn’t Only About Substances

Addiction can take many forms—gambling, food, work, screens, relationships, and more. At its core, addiction is about using something outside ourselves to cope with something inside ourselves.

When we broaden our understanding, we reduce stigma and make it easier for people to seek help. No matter what someone is struggling with, their pain is real, and their healing matters.

The Remedy Project is here for every story, every struggle, and every step toward recovery.

Do’s and Don’ts When Supporting Someone in Addiction

Supporting someone you love through addiction is hard, and it’s easy to feel unsure of what to do. A few guiding principles can make a difference:

Do:
• Set healthy boundaries that protect your well‑being.
• Listen without trying to fix everything.
• Encourage professional help and community support.

Don’t:
• Cover up the consequences of their behavior.
• Shame, lecture, or minimize what they’re experiencing.
• Try to control their choices.

Love is powerful, but it isn’t a treatment plan. Support works best when it’s paired with resources, accountability, and community.

Helping Loved Ones Recognize What They Can’t See

Addiction often hides in plain sight, especially for the people living through it. Loved ones can gently help by naming what they’re seeing without blame:

• “I’ve noticed you seem overwhelmed lately.”
• “I’m worried because this feels different for you.”
• “You don’t have to go through this alone.”

These small, honest conversations can open the door to healing. When we approach with empathy instead of accusation, we create space for truth—and for change.

Signs of Addiction Aren’t Always What You Expect

Addiction doesn’t always look like the movies. It can show up quietly—in changes to sleep, mood, habits, or relationships long before substances are ever involved.
When you notice someone withdrawing, losing interest in things they once loved, or struggling to manage stress in healthy ways, those can be early indicators that something deeper is going on.

At The Remedy Project, we believe awareness is the first step toward hope. When we learn the signs, we’re better equipped to support the people we care about with compassion instead of judgment.

A huge thank‑you to Community Church for hosting Hidden in Plain Sight at both campuses in February.

We were honored to partner with you, and we’re grateful for the incredible turnout — a full house at each location and a community ready to learn, engage, and support one another.

This workshop is powerful because it opens eyes, sparks conversations, and equips families with tools to recognize the signs of addiction that are often overlooked. Your hospitality and commitment to creating space for this work made the event a true success.

Thank you for helping us bring awareness, education, and hope to our community.
We’re grateful for your partnership and for every person who showed up with an open heart and a willingness to learn.

That’s why The Remedy Project provides support not only for individuals, but for the loved ones walking this road alongside them.

Together, we believe lives can be transformed, families restored, and hope renewed. 🤍

Please share this post so that others in our community can find this help if and when needed. Thank you!

Some of the people in your life won’t ever change.
And that’s okay.

You don’t have to fix them, convince them, or manage their emotions.

What is yours to choose is how you show up.
Consider your boundaries, your tone, and your peace.

Walk into these situations grounded.
Stay connected to who you are.
Leave with your values intact.

That kind of response changes everything.
