Great video by Rachael Wonderlin on the value of baby dolls, stuffed animals and Memorable Pets in memory care! Rachael is an internationally known expert in Dementia Care. She has two books on the subject published by John Hopkins University Press. Rachael has a Masters in Gerontology. She can be found at http//www.rachaelwonderlin.com. I hear a LOT of reasons why "stuffed animals won't work" for people living with dementia...but they just aren't true! Memorable Pets & Believable Babies supplied 168 stuffed animal pets for this wonderful project in Boston! The project benefited Seniors in nursing homes. They really helped with the isolation issues whether one has dementia or not!

There’s little research on the effect of stuffed animals, but there is anecdotal evidence they offer comfort to isolated seniors.

"My mom has Dementia and this doll makes her SO happy! It totally calms her, gives her something to do with her hands other than fold kleenex's over and over. I've seen her gaze loving at "baby Julie" and say "I love you so much". Brings me joy to see her so happy. I had to purchase some other outfits due to them getting food spilt on them because she wants to feed the baby some of her food. Would definitely recommend these dolls!"
