Post-op recovery has never looked so cozy! 🐽💕
Elanor the pig is doing wonderful after her spay today. She has officially decided that the best way to get around the clinic is to be chauffeured—and our kennel tech, Camille, was more than happy to step up as her personal driver!

It’s hard to say who is enjoying the snuggles more, but we are just glad to see this sweet girl comfortable and thriving. This is definitely one of the best "perks" of the job here at Sale Creek Veterinary Services! 🏥✨

❄️ HELP YOUR ANIMALS WEATHER THE COLD ❄️

With temperatures dropping well below freezing tonight, please take a moment to double-check your outdoor pets and livestock. Cold weather puts a significant strain on their bodies, and they are counting on us to help them stay warm and hydrated!

To keep your animals safe and comfortable, ensure they have:

💧 Fresh, Liquid Water: Check water troughs and bowls frequently. Ice can form quickly, and animals cannot stay warm if they are dehydrated.

🏠 Dry, Draft-Free Shelter: Make sure pets and livestock have a place to get out of the wind and stay dry.

🌾 Extra Calories: Animals burn a lot of energy just trying to maintain their body temperature. Provide extra hay and feed to help them stay warm from the inside out.

🛌 Deep Bedding: Clean, dry straw or shavings provide a vital layer of insulation between your animals and the frozen ground.

If it's too cold for you, it's likely too cold for them to be without extra help. Let's keep all our Sale Creek furry and feathered friends safe tonight! 🐾❄️

Due to the threat of black ice and for the safety of our staff and clients, Sale Creek Veterinary Services will be opening at 10:00 AM tomorrow, Monday, January 26th.

📞 Need to reach us? A receptionist will be available to answer phones and book appointments earlier than 10:00 AM. If you have an appointment scheduled before the delayed opening, we will be reaching out to you to reschedule.

As we keep an eye on Monday's forecast, the safety of our team and our clients is our top priority. We plan to be here for you, but if the weather takes a turn for the worse, we may operate with a limited "shoestring" crew or close the clinic for the day.

This week has been BUSY. From behavior to internal medicine, cardiology, and more to some down time at seaworld we’ve packed in the learning and the fun. One and a half days to go and we’ll be home and back to taking care of our patients and putting some new knowledge into action. If you have a cat with cardiomyopathy be sure and call us about a new exciting drug that has been proven to slow the progression!!!

We are getting our continual learning in this week! The doctors and most of the staff are at the 2026 VMX Conference in Orlando. Today Dr Thigpin is doing Sports Medicine, the other doctors and staff are doing f***l microbiomes, ticks, vaccines, cardiac disease and so much more
