Billy David Milner, 85, of Salem, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Born on October 11, 1940, in Johnsonville, Illinois, he was the son of Harvey Joe Milner and Iva Marie Milner.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who found great joy in his family and community. On April 18, 1959, he married the love of his life, Judith “Judy” (Phillips) Milner in Makanda, Illinois. Together, they built a life centered around hard work, faith, and family.

Bill was the owner and operator of Milner McNeil Appliance Center, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring. He was well known in the community not only for his business but for his friendly nature and strong work ethic. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Salem and had also been involved with the Elks and Salem Country Club.

He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, including golfing, hunting, and riding his Gold Wing motorcycle.

He is survived by his children, Tammie McNeil and husband Keith of Salem, and Bill Milner and wife Angie of Walnut Hill; grandchildren, Ashley Kleindorfer and husband Jason of O’Fallon, Illinois, Logan McNeil and wife Nicole Perna of Studio City, California, Mallory Prindable and husband Alex of O’Fallon, Illinois, Quinn Milner and wife Hana of Germany, Allie Gore and husband Trevor of Salem, Victor Milner of Salem, Joseph Cain Milner and significant other Tayler Nibert of Salem, and Liam Robinson of Mt. Vernon. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Teddy, Levi, Graham, Lincoln, Kinsley, Harrison, Brynn, Blaire, Hayven, Oliver, and Josie; his brother, Harvey Milner of Fairfield, Illinois; nieces Teresa Hill and Connie Butler; and great-niece and nephew, Steven Milner and Kelsey Milner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Duey Milner and his wife Evelyn; his sisters, Betty Lee Milner; sister in-law, Barbara Milner; nephews Tony and Steven Milner; and niece Renee Milner.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Grace United Methodist Church in Salem, with Reverend Carol Lakota-Eastin officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Salem.

Logan Bryce Wood, age 26 of Salem, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis with his family at his side.

Logan was born on September 3, 1999, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Tommy and Shawnda (Ferrell) Wood who survive in Odin.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Nyla Wood; brothers, Colton Wood and wife Kenzi of Patoka, and their daughter, Lenny, Gavein Wood of Salem and his daughters, Eleanor and Elizabeth, and Riston Wood and wife Lacey of Salem, and their son, Briar; paternal grandmother, Linda Wood of Odin; maternal grandmother, Doris Ferrell of Salem; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dennis Wood; and maternal grandfather, Gary Ferrell.

Logan worked as a carpenter and enjoyed being outdoors. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being around his family and friends. He was a loyal son, brother, father, grandson, uncle and friend.

Funeral Services for Logan Bryce Wood will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem, with Pastor Brian Mixon officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Joyce LaVerne Sullens, age 85 of St. Charles, MO passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at her son’s home in St. Charles.

Joyce was born on March 20, 1941, in Salem the daughter of Russell and May (Simmons) Sullens. She married Lloyd E. “Rip” Sullens on April 5, 1958, in Millbourne, PA and he preceded her in death on December 15, 2009.

Survivors include her sons, Denver Sullens of St. Charles, MO and Dale Sullens and wife Stacey of O’Fallon, MO; grandchildren, Denver Sullens, Jessica Walker and husband Kelly, Jacob Sullens and wife Allie, Aaron Sullens, and Kali Farrell; three great-grandchildren, Kailey Sullens, Keira Walker and Grey Groth; and special family friend, Laney Quandt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Dennis Sullens and Donald Sullens and wife Victoria.

Joyce grew up and attended school in Salem. She worked as a registered nurse for many years at Barnes Hospital in St. Peters, MO. She attended First Baptist Church in O’Fallon, MO and was a former member of the Salem American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, dancing, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

A graveside service for Joyce Sullens will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery by the Salem American Legion to honor the service of her husband, Lloyd. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisitng the family with arrangements.

Wanda Lee Nash, age 95, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Axiom Gardens in Flora, Illinois

Wanda was born on February 22, 1931, in Flora, the daughter of Ruby and Clara (Boehner) Reddish. She grew up in the Flora area and was a proud graduate of Flora High School.

On March 11, 1952, Wanda married the love of her life, Clinton “Junior” Harrison Nash Jr. Together, they built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and family. In 1956, they purchased a farm in Xenia, where Wanda worked faithfully alongside her husband for many years. They shared 59 years of marriage until Junior’s passing in August of 2011.

Wanda was a devoted farm wife and also worked outside the home, including six years at Four Sisters Sewing Factory in Flora and 27 years at Spartan Manufacturing. She took great pride in her work and in caring for her family.

She was a longtime member of Golden Methodist Church and enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout her life. Wanda loved gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and spending time fishing with her sister and grandchildren. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Wanda had a way of making everyone feel special and had a servant’s heart.

Wanda is survived by her daughters, Linda Hurd and husband Ed of Louisville, and Brenda Crouse and husband Jim of Salem; her sister, Virginia Reddish of Flora; her grandchildren, Tammy Prochazka and husband Jack, Brian Hurd, Jason Hurd and wife Natalie, Rich Crouse and wife Mallory, and Ryan Crouse and wife Chelsey; her great-grandchildren, Ali, Bridgett, Lucas, Jacob, Jaxon, Harrison, Weston, Nolan, Teagan, Baylor, Cohen, Kennedy, Forrest, and Fallon; along with five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Clinton “Junior” Nash.
Wanda will be remembered for her strong faith, work ethic, her loving heart, and the legacy of family she leaves behind.

Services will be announced at a later date. Janice (Marks) Fuller, age 88, passed into the arms of Jesus on March 29, 2026 at the home of her daughter in Salem.

She was born on January 1, 1938 to Paul and Hazel Marks and grew up in Marion, IL. She married C. Ray Fuller on October 19, 1957. They served the Lord in ministry to churches in Illinois and Texas until their retirement. They retired to Bibleville in south Texas where they continued to use their gifts to serve the Lord and others. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage before Ray preceded her in death on March 7, 2016.

Janice was the life of every party. From the time she was young, she loved talking to people and entertaining them with her stories. She enjoyed writing and performing skits at church and most recently at Bibleville where she performed as the character Hattie Horsecollar.

Janice is survived by her two children, Brian (Pam) Fuller of Justin, TX and Denice (Stephen) Phillips of Salem, IL, four grandchildren, Zachary Phillips, Alex Phillips, Meredith Fuller, and Elizabeth Fuller, four great-grandchildren Baker, Emery, Isaac, and Austin, and a sister, Brenda (Richard) Hay. She was dearly loved by her family and was the very best Mom and Memaw.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister.

There will be no local services held. Burial will be at a later date in the Dallas National Cemetery alongside her husband. Doris I. Lewis, age 89, of Salem, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Salem Township Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born on June 27, 1936, in Salem, Illinois, Doris was the daughter of T.J. “Boots” Wilkins and Nelda (Shaffer) Wilkins.

On March 6, 1959, she married the love of her life, Robert L. “Bobby” Lewis, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Together they shared 61 cherished years before his passing in 2020.

Doris dedicated 48 years of service at Fabick Tractor Company, where her reliability and strong work ethic were deeply valued. Outside of work, she found great joy in sewing and quilting, talents that reflected both her creativity and care for others. She was also a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan and especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the pride of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Indea Tate and husband Tom of Salem; her grandchildren, Josh Tate and wife Kelsey of Salem, Jenna Tate of Salem, and Jacob Tate and wife Kayla of Carlyle; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Riley, Emma, Griffin, and Greyson Tate. She is also survived by her siblings, Ivan Wilkins and wife Joyce of Salem, Dorothy Keen of Kinmundy, June Woolridge of Centralia, Kim Meadows and husband Johnny of Tennessee, and Andra Malone and husband Rich of Texas; along with her sister-in-law, Judy Wilkins of Alma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby; a grandson, Jordan Thomas Tate; and her siblings, Paul Wilkins, Joe Wilkins, Janie Wilkins, and Myra Wilkins.

In accordance with Doris’s wishes, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem, with Danny Shuler officiating.

Lonnie Holleman, age 83, of Johnsonville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born on January 6, 1943, in Marion County, Illinois, the son of Earl and Dorothy (Stonecipher) Holleman. He married Peggy (Wooters) Holleman in 1998 in Wayne County and together they shared 27 years united in marriage.

Lonnie was a hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to his career in the carshop with Illinois Central Railroad and in construction where he worked as a cement mason.

He was also a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country with honor during Vietnam.

Lonnie is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Holleman of Johnsonville; his daughter, Kelly Burgess and husband Rick of Iuka; his grandchildren, KaRissa Allison and Kelsey Holzhausen; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, in-law, Shelby Sladek, Barbara Delaney, Patty Davis, Shirley Sill and Vickie Brubaker; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Dorothy Holleman; his sister, Janice Harmon; his brother, Billy Holleman; and his brother in-law, Glen Harmon.

Graveside services for Lonnie Holleman will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Cemetery in Centralia, Illinois on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, with Bob Helm officiating.
