Diabetes Support Services NW

Diabetes Support Services NW Education, support, and resources for all types of diabetes! In-person classes are provided weekly. Teachings/classes are organized into 12-week sessions.

Diabetes Support Services NW offers FREE support group meeting classes. All types of diabetes (or those in pre-diabetes) and their families are encouraged to attend. Diabetes Support classes meet weekly on Tuesdays at 1:00PM, at 1274 Cunningham LN S, Salem, OR 97302. The program features education and teachings by certified diabetes educators. We also bring in registered dieticians, medical community members, and vendors of diabetic products. Refreshments and door prizes can also be found. Diabetic supplies, education, and resources are also provided at any time, outside of classes. Our open hours are Monday through Friday, 11:00AM until 3:00PM. Whole body sonic sessions Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 11:00AM - 3:00PM or by appointment. Donations of supplies are accepted and appreciated!

These statistics are alarming but true. According to the CDC:

• 8.7 million people in the U.S. are living with undiagnosed diabetes.
• Approximately 80% of people with prediabetes are unaware they have it.

Unmanaged diabetes can cause serious health concerns. Friendly reminder during hot days: Make sure to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water! Staying hydrated helps the kidneys function properly and lower blood sugar. Also, be aware of the signs of heat stroke/exhaustion if you plan on being out in the sun/heat. 🌞 ⛱️

Our Story

Diabetes Support Services offers six FREE support group meeting opportunities. Diabetes Support meets the fourth Thursday of every month at First Presbyterian Church, 770 Chemeketa Street NE, Salem. The program features a keynote speaker from the medical community followed by spotlights by certified diabetes educators, registered dieticians, or vendors of diabetic products. Refreshments, door prizes, diabetic supplies, resources and information are provided. Diabetes in Balance meets at 1130 a.m. at our corporate headquarters every Monday and the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 3:00 p.m. at West Valley Hospital in Dallas. These meetings have a more informal format allowing for education by speakers or teachers and discussion of topics of concern. All meetings are free.
