💙 THE BRIDGE 💙
Last week, Nicholas shared how our prison training program transformed his life, moving thousands with his words: "JLAD gave me hope at a time when hope was hard to come by, and it left a lasting impact on who I am today."
Nicholas and others in our prison program help build each dog's foundation—teaching trust, obedience, confidence, and purpose. Our training process is truly a collaborative effort, with dogs rotating between Adults in Custody and community socializers on a regular basis. This partnership ensures each dog receives well-rounded preparation for their future role as service dogs.
Our socializers are essential to this process. They take these dogs into the real world—grocery stores, restaurants, public transportation, crowded events—everywhere a service dog needs to be calm and confident. Socializers bridge the gap between foundation and freedom, continuing the meaningful work that begins behind prison walls.
If Nicholas's story inspired you, we invite you to become part of this mission. We're currently seeking socializers to join our program. No prior experience is necessary, as we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support throughout your volunteer journey ~🐾
