Happy Halloween from ACCRV. As many of us know, the Executive Director does not like scary clowns. So what does the staff do? They nominate someone to dress up in a scary clown outfit and poke their head in his office door waiting quietly for him to notice and jump. 🤣 More pictures of costumes to follow.

A huge thank you to the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets for volunteering their time and energy, as part of their service project, to help with much-needed landscaping duties.

Before getting to work, we made sure to fuel them up with delicious pizza from Papa's Pizza- Salem and kept them hydrated and energized with plenty of chocolate and cold water.

Under the leadership of Samuel LaGassa, Leading Chief Petty Officer and Stephen Radcliffer, Training Petty Officer, of Charlie Department, all 18 cadets attacked the project with energy and teamwork. The Cadets, all members of the Virginia Tech Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps., spent 4 hours clearing grass and weeds along the steep berm in front of our building.

Special thanks to Alison Jorgensen, President & CEO of Council of Community Services in Roanoke, for facilitating this project and connecting ACCRV with the Corps of Cadets.

Thank you, Cadets, for your time, dedication, and a true show of respect - both for our community and for the values you represent.

Special thanks to Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe for supporting the Adult Care Center by allowing us the opportunity to participate in their fundraising events.

We would also like to thank all of our supporters that came out to eat or get take out. Every little bit helps us continue our mission of serving seniors and veterans.

If you have not visited Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe, you are missing out on great atmosphere, food as well as staff.

A huge thank you to everyone who played in or supported the 2nd Annual ACCRV Golf Tournament! Your participation and generosity made the day a tremendous success and helps us continue serving our Veterans and Seniors in the community.

We are excited to announce this year's winners:

OVERALL CHAMPIONS- David Tolley, Matt Mankin, Troy Dunkan and Logan Tolley.

Women's Champions- Donna Littlepage, Melissa Robinson, Nancy Sullivan and Amy Thacker.

We were blessed to have many Corporate sponsors that made our tournament a success. Each of your support and partnership make all the difference. We could not have done it without each of you.
