The first week of our clinic food drive was a success! Between our backstaff, audiology, allergy, and call center we were able to collect and donate over 200 food items to Marion Polk Food Share!

Thank you to our patients who donated food items as well!

If you haven't had a chance to donate, we will still be hosting the food drive until December 5th. Can't make it into the clinic? Visit Marion Polk Food Share's or UGM's website to find other ways to support our community members.

Join Willamette ENT in supporting our Marion-Polk County community this holiday season.

Starting Monday Nov. 10 through Friday Dec. 5 our clinic will be hosting a food drive among our staff members, and we would love to encourage our patients to join in if they can!

Drop off your non-perishable food in our lobby underneath our doctors' photographs. All food donations will be delivered to Marion Polk Food Share and Union Gospel Mission of Salem.

Our first ever decorating contest ended yesterday, and the votes have been tallied!

October is National Audiology Awareness Month! Willamette ENT and the American Academy of Audiology want to remind YOU of the importance of good hearing health.

One of the factors in maintaining healthy hearing is being conscious of the degree and amount of loud sound exposure. Lengthy exposure to sounds over 85 decibels can damage hearing.

To put that into perspective:
🎆Noise from fireworks can reach up to 155 decibels.
🎧An amplified music concert and an MP3 player with the volume turned all the way up can be as high (or higher) as 120 decibels. 🍿Movie action scenes in the theater have been known to reach 100 decibels.
🌱Outdoor sounds can pose a risk too. Lawn mowers are around 85 decibels and chain saws can be 115-120 decibels.
🗣️Compare these with normal conversation that is around 60-65 decibels.

Utilize the acronym EARS 👂to help you remember ways to protect your hearing from loud sounds.

We had a blast at the 2025 Riverfront Family Fest put on by Family Building Blocks! Kiddos and parents alike enjoyed our scent matching game in which they smelled scent jars and matched it to the pictured scents ☕🪻 It was a great way to teach kids about their sense of smell and expose them to scents they may not have smelled before!

Willamette ENT has been a proud partner of Family Building Blocks since 2009! This year we are excited to host a booth at their annual Riverfront Family Fest - an event that focuses on the health and safety of children and parents in the community. We will have some fun activities focused on hearing and the sense of smell along with other goodies! Come say hello to us this upcoming Saturday, August 2nd!
