Something that makes us unique at Fig is our team approach.
Last week we wrapped up a final postpartum visit with a family we’ve supported through the birth of all four of their children. She calls us her birth village, and we love that.

We’re three midwives who work together to care for you and your growing family. Our model keeps us balanced and grounded, so we can show up fully for every birth we attend. Every client receives care that’s personal, thoughtful, and compassionate.

When one of us is at your birth, you can trust the others know your story, your hopes, and your heart. And even if we’re not the one at your birth, we still get to see you postpartum; giving you the benefit of our different backgrounds and perspectives. It’s truly value added for everyone.

We all have families, too, and our team model allows us to be fully present at home while staying committed to this work. Midwives experience a high rate of burnout, and our approach is intentional: we want to serve this community for many years to come.

It’s such a gift to gather with past, present, and future clients — to see familiar faces, growing bellies, and little ones thriving. We’re so grateful for this beautiful community that continues to grow and connect.

Exciting announcement: We finally convinced Micki to come back!! 🥳
For those of you who are new, we want to introduce you to Micki. She was our former student who has now graduated and become a newly licensed midwife here in Oregon. She will be assisting us one week per month for the next 6-12 months. For those of you that know her, you can attest to how excited we are for this collaboration.

While she is on call she will also be assisting us with some prenatals and postpartum visits. She is looking forward to meeting all of the new faces and seeing some familiar faces!

Today at a postpartum visit, we managed to get all 10 little toes on the newborn footprints..which, if you know, is definitely hit or miss 🦶✨

These first weeks after birth are tender and full. That’s why we come to you visiting families four times in the first two weeks, right in the comfort of your own home. We take care of both baby and parents, making sure everyone is thriving. No packing up, no waiting rooms, no stress of leaving the house with a fresh baby. Just care and connection. 🌼

Just a reminder we are having a graduation celebration next week! I hope you can join us for some sweet treats.

I just wanted to post a little thank you to these amazing midwives and our wonderful clients. I have been so fortunate to work with 3 of the most incredible women. The last 2 years have flown by and they’ve generously showered me with so much wisdom. We’ve shared lots of laughter, toting bags in the rain, suturing practice, cleaning up after births, tears in hospital hallways, conversations about the most recent evidence. These ladies welcomed me to Oregon and paved the way for me to solidify my education in midwifery. I feel so lucky!
Thank you to our clients for allowing me to be apart of your prenatal, birth and postpartum care and graciously letting me into your homes. I have learned so much from each of you.

I love seeing Fig babies (any babies really 😊) with Dr. Luke at Deep Roots Family Medicine, LLC, and now I can see some grownups too. Check it out!

Exciting news! Our resident RN, Meredith Klein, has recently completed advanced training to become a Certified Practitioner through Aviva Romm, MD's Women’s Integrative Medicine Institute. She is available for appointments Monday afternoons. More information available in the link posted in the comments.
