Today through our THRIVE intergenerational program at Boone Ridge Senior Living, the Ridge Kids (ages 3–4) spent time in Memory Care practicing practical life skills—folding socks, setting tables, and shining silverware alongside our residents.

The joy this simple, shared experience brought was truly special.

Moments like these remind us how meaningful connection across generations can be—for both the young and the young at heart.

At Boone Ridge Assisted Living we gathered together on the 2 floor every 3rd Tuesday for an Amazing Food Demo/ Food Committee with Boones Dining Campus Director BJ. 🍰 🍓 🍪

This month BJ made a delicious crustless Cheesecake with strawberries and a snickerdoodle cookie to dip into the scrumptious cheesecake! 🍰

💚💚💚Today was all about connection, energy, and a whole lot of fun at Boone Ridge!

Our new intergenerational program THRIVE brought in 5th–6th graders together with our amazing senior residents for a morning full of movement and music. They kicked things off with a lively exercise class—encouraging each other, sharing laughs, and staying active together.

Then came the highlight… The Boone Drummers! 🥁 Students and residents joined forces to feel the rhythm, make music, and create some unforgettable moments.

From big smiles to new friendships, today again showed just how powerful it is when generations come together. This is what THRIVE is all about!💚💚💚

❤️ WORKING TOGETHER ❤️

Anyone who has watched children and seniors interact has likely experienced the magic of this type of connection. Faces brighten, postures relax, and even the quietest residents turn towards the sound of young voices. The connection is immediate and genuine.

Children and seniors communicate through smiles and eye connection in ways that feel remarkably natural and heartfelt. These moments remind us that meaningful interaction doesn't require elebrate planning. It grows naturally when generations share a room, interest, or a simple moment of recognition.

Children and teens benefit as well. Time with our seniors teaches empathy, patience, and emotional awareness. Young people learn to communicate with adults who carry decades of experience.

These interactions shape confidence and thoughtful future adults!

Thank you to Livingston Adventist Academy for joining our new intergenerational THRIVE program here at Boone, the memories we will make are priceless❤️

In memory care, music can spark joy, bring back cherished memories, reduce anxiety, and create meaningful moments of connection for our residents. Boone Ridge Assisted Living is really enjoying Boones Bistro Pastry Shop! We offer an assortment of pastries, coffee and hot coca and even better is you can sit and enjoy while visiting with your friends! 🍰 🍪 🥧 🍰 🍮

We also hopped on the Bus for a Boone Bus Adventure for a beautiful Spring Country Drive with a surprise stop for hot fudge Sundaes! 🚌 🍨

And let's not forget about the wonderful presentation we had from Oregon's Traveling Historian, Darrell Jabin! Our Boonies really enjoy when he visits and shares all his knowledge of Oregon History. 📚 🌎 🗺

It was a busy and beautiful morning here at Boone Ridge Memory Care! Our residents and team rolled up their sleeves and planted a total of FIVE raised garden beds! 🌱

There’s nothing like sunshine, smiles, and getting your hands a little dirty to bring everyone together. 🌼
We can’t wait to watch our garden grow right along with all these wonderful moments! 💚
