ALPCO Scientific Solutions for Life.

ALPCO offers a wide range of testing solutions, providing scientists and healthcare professionals with vital insights for advancing research and quality of care. American Laboratory Products Company (ALPCO) was founded in 1991 as an importer and distributor of immunoassay based products for the North American life science markets. Our origin began through an exclusive partnership with one European manufacturer and has since grown into a premier channel representing over 60 collaborating partners from around the globe. In 2007, we expanded our capabilities with the launch of our organically developed product line focused in the area of diabetes and obesity research while also remaining true to our roots by continuing to provide “Immunoassays Beyond the Ordinary.”

As the research and diagnostic endeavors of our customers continue to evolve, so does ALPCO’s commitment to providing high quality products and superior customer support. Over the years we’ve expanded our offering into applications for HPLC, LC-MS/MS, purified antibodies, recombinant proteins, flow cytometry reagents and recently launched our new STELLUX® line of chemiluminescent based detection systems in 2013. Additionally, our promise to provide optimal support continues to progress through a growing network of valuable online resources, collaborative relationships, and customized technical solutions. While our vision has evolved to serve a broader segment of life science research and healthcare professionals, our mission to deliver “Scientific Solutions for Life” remains the same.

Is your analyzer holding your lab back?

It might be time to upgrade if your current analyzer:

•Shows inconsistent Results
•Slows turnaround times
•Frequently breaks down
•Doesn't connect to Wi-Fi
•Isn't fully automatic

Stop struggling with outdated technology. Upgrade to a random-access analyzer designed to keep up with a modern lab's demands.

If you're still using semi-automatic analyzers, you're working harder, not smarter. Semi-automatic systems can only batch test one round of samples at a time. Meanwhile, automatic analyzers like KleeYa give you random access to run multiple tests at once.

Continuous sample loading means you don't have to slow down for new tests, allowing your lab to keep up with demand without sacrificing accuracy or increasing human errors.

Have you made the leap to a fully automatic analyzer yet? Let us know what questions you have about automation in the comments!

IBD and IBS often present similar symptoms. But one crucial biomarker can help clinicians make a diagnosis: Calprotectin

Calprotectin is a protein released by neutrophils and associated with the intestinal inflammation of IBD. Clinical studies and FDA submissions have found that non-invasive f***l tests can identify elevated calprotectin levels associated with mucosal IBD inflammation, helping clinicians differentiate IBD from IBS without invasive procedures.

Does your lab screen calprotectin levels for GI patients yet?

Don't have an automated washer in your lab? Learn how to hand-wash an ELISA plate with the following steps.

1: Hook up your wash buffer to a clean polyeurathane bottle. Pump water through until the bubbles disappear.
2: Remove the preliminary covering. Holding the plate at an angle, discard the contents of the wells with a forceful motion.
3: Evenly fill all wells, moving the wash buffer across the plate. Use enough force to remove any lingering material.
4: Wait the appropriate amount of time, as specified by your protocol, then discard the liquid. Repeat as needed.
5: Tap the plate on a lint-free surface, changing blotting towels as needed.

Assay validation doesn't have to be overwhelming. With smart planning, you can save time, reduce costs, and minimize stress in your lab workflow.

Successful validation starts with three essential steps: outlining your scope with clear performance goals and sample handling instructions, creating a detailed schedule that accounts for every phase from prep to data review, and using assay templates to streamline your process. Three distinct steps. One shared goal: ensuring accurate, reliable results that stand up to regulatory standards.

ALPCO is here to support your lab with expert guidance and validation-ready solutions designed for seamless implementation.

Follow for more hands-on lab management and implementation tips that make complex processes simple.
