Come join us for a cup of tea and some community (and meet my new assistant Hannah!) at our Baby and Me playgroup! Older siblings and all parents are welcome. We hope to make this a monthly thing. We need each other!
Free parking is available in the Chemeketa Parkade a block away. Stroller space is limited so consider wearing or carrying your baby. We are upstairs - there is an elevator on Court St next to Honey & Co, and stairs on Commercial St.
Can’t wait to see you!

This is one of my favorite facial stretches to do with babies who have a tongue tie, low tongue posture, clicking at the breast, a leaky latch, or lots of air swallowing. It typically works best with a sleeping baby (because their chubby little cheeks will go right into their eyes if they’re open).
What are some more of my favorite tools for babies with tongue ties and feeding issues? DM me and I’ll send you my free guide 5 Simple Tools.

New review just in!
I have been teaching natural childbirth classes in my community since 2012. At that time I had only been to a few births outside of my own, but birth was my “special interest”(/hyperfixation) and I had a lot to share. Now, a few hundred births later, I am teaching a lot of the same stuff (because physiological birth doesn’t change) with a lot more wisdom and experience.
My infant bodywork training started in 2016, so the way I talk about newborns has changed a lot over the years! I have had the pleasure of treating over 1200 babies in the last two years, and I’m always learning more and more, and this is the year I start my Baby Listening Method classes for providers and parents. My first class (for providers) is next month, and it is 100% waitlisted (meaning I opened 12 spots and have 12 people on my waitlist). If you’re interested in following that journey or joining a future class, check out the currently content-less page.

My first class of 12 spots filled in 30 hours. I’m telling you, there is a huge need for this work!

The Baby Listening Method Foundations Training is here!

I have had the honor and joy of being my community’s baby bodyworker for the last 10 years. I helped almost 600 babies in my practice last year, and am on track to surpass that number this year. I am currently booked out 4-5 weeks for both home and office visits, which is a great problem for a business owner to have, but a real problem for the uncomfortable babies that need help now.

It has become abundantly clear that our community needs more people who know how to help babies be more comfortable in their bodies! A few local midwives have been asking for years when I would offer a training so they could have some of these tools rather than sending parents my way to wait sometimes weeks for an appointment. I have wondered, can I even teach what I do? I’m very good at my work after all. 😁 Last summer my dear friend, gifted massage therapist Sherri Clark spent a week training with me, and she was able to take her new skills back to Chattanooga to become her community’s baby bodyworker, and she is changing lives! Her success and encouragement have driven me to finally create a training.

This in-person, hands-on training on February 15, 2026 will introduce the foundations of the Baby Listening Method — a gentle, observation-based approach to understanding what babies are communicating through their bodies, movement, and behavior. We’ll explore how modern pregnancy, birth, and early life can shape patterns of tension or discomfort, and how careful listening — with our eyes, hands, and nervous systems — can help guide us in helping babies feel safer and more at ease in their bodies.

This training is designed to add assessment and treatment tools to your toolbox, whether you are a birthworker, bodyworker, lactation consultant, parent, or anyone else who works closely with babies. No prior bodywork training required — just curiosity, humility, and a willingness to think about and look at babies in a new way.

I couldn’t be more excited to be sharing this work with more baby helpers! Sign up through my Calendly link in bio.

This time of year, it is dark when I finish my day at the office. I don’t use the fluorescent overhead lights (we’re trying to regulate nervous systems in here) so it feels very cozy in the evenings. My last visit of the day gave me a beautiful opportunity to talk to a sweet mama about life and death and the hard and beautiful things in between. After she left and I finished my chart note, I gathered all my things and turned off the lights and got to the door to leave when I noticed a lovely glow coming around the corner. I came to turn this last light off and paused to take it in. I really love this beautiful little space we have created for the children that come with their parents for appointments here. In creating this healing, soothing space for our clients, we have also given ourselves the gift of spending time here.
We have been here for a year now!

**Applications close December 23, 2025**

I’m hiring an admin assistant!
As my practice has grown, one thing has become very clear: I need help behind the scenes.
I am looking for a kind, organized, detail-loving person to support me with scheduling and maintaining my cancellation list. I envision this role starting with 2–4 hours per week, with room to grow as my business continues to grow.
This flexible role is a great fit for a clear communicator who is looking for just a few hours a week and is interested in being a part of a small, heart-centered practice that supports babies and families. I warmly welcome applicants of all genders, identities, and orientations.
Please send your cover letter and résumé to jenhollandwellness@gmail.com

If I had a nickel for every time I have commented on a baby's tight trapezius muscles and had their mom reply "she got it from me, that's where I hold my tension too," I would have a lot of nickels. Our babies mirror us!

And sometimes trap tension is less about use of these muscles and more about the state of our nervous system.

Check out this awesome blog post by the very smart Missy Bunch on the connection between trap tension and shallow breathing!

Shallow, chest-dominant breathing can overactivate the upper traps, creating tension and discomfort, but focusing on diaphragmatic breathing can restore balance and reduce pain. By teaching clients exercises like 360-degree breathing, you can help them improve core stability, optimize posture, and r
